This is two years later July of 24. I replaced the springs finally. With a microscopic dot of oil on the dowels. It improved the functionality 100%. I would never thought the springs were that weak but they were. Or send it in to Carter and pay very little. It’s well worth it.

I love Carter releases. sooo simple, no fancy BS, the price has gone up in recent years. But I'll still take it. they work!

I've cleaned my two releases by backing off screws to create a 1/16" gap between the halves. Then pour 91% alcohol heavily into the release andwash it out. Thenusing compressed air tank carefullyblow it dry. You will be surprised at how much dirt can get into it.

I've been thinking about taking mine apart to do a custom Cerakote. I was scared to jack it up, but this shows that the process is not that difficult. Thanks!

Great video and I just used it as the lever the thumb release broke, and I had take the thing apart to fix it. Your most important point is to take the release apart in a gallon plastic bag. I didn't do that and one spring hit me in the eye while reassembling.

Dude! Your videos are nothing short of awesome! I've just ordered a wise choice and can't wait to try it out. Currently shooting a Boss-X by Tru-Ball and love it!......to those of you who read comments a thumb button changed archery for me! Groups shrank considerably! If you shooting wrist release, give a thumb button a try. So thanks for posting this video, and keep em coming. You've got a great chanel on the go....love to watch GO-JAYS-GO! Peace to you

Had the same exact issue with my wise choice …. Worked in my hand but won’t fire under pressure , then pops off the bow at 3/4 let off . Was driving me crazy because the release doesn’t even have 30 shots through it . I sent it out , they sent me a new one and guess what …. 50 shots in it’s doing the same exact thing . Thought it was me but clearly it’s a common issue . Cool video I’ll have to try to do that

Use graphite that you use for a house lock for those pins or moving parts.

Same thing happened to me with my Wise Choice. Had 15 shots out of it right out of the box and then 3 mid draw miss fire! It’s getting sent back and going to change to the Stan
@josephtreadlightly56862 жыл бұрын
@@jordanbreda7851 I've never had such a thing happen with my Stan SX-3 for 3+ years. I bought a Stan Perfex in the black longneck the next year but it's my backup. My as well sell that Perfex & buy another SX-3. Great consistent shot progression with that ledge pinkie shelf up top. The release goes off when I put just a little pressure on that shelf with my pinkie. Very repeatable.

My wise choice misfired on me and then stoped working. I sent it in for repair all was good for about a month and I’ve had 4 misfires in the last 3 days. Will never be able to trust that release will be looking at different brands

Thanks for the tutorial man, I usually spray brake parts cleaner in mine, then blast it with compressed air, put a tiny bit of silicone spray and blast it back out with compressed air. I would run it dry, rather than use bow string wax, I think that will attract too much dirt. I did my first axis deer hunt on Lanai this past November and it was amazing, cant stop thinking about going back. I got one doe and almost had a big buck and mouflon sheep but you know how it goes. I picked up on the Yall, haha, are you Texan? I am, and do you live out there in Hawaii?

Great video you're better off working on your own release anyway because carter's customer service is terrible at returning your phone calls had to have my local archery shop send my release for me got it back and within a month the release was going off again mid draw don't recommend a wise choice
