I just started using the Stan Onnex Clicker. Everyone finding it hard to pull high poundage and a difficult consistency to your shot with an index trigger, come Spring dump it and get this or some version of a thumb button release. It now allows me to pull 73 lbs with 85% let off because of the leverage position and alignment of your arms. Prior to this I could not pull over 62-65 lbs and bicep tendon soreness. The method you show for the Onnex clicker works very well for me and I have only had this release for a couple of months. It takes discipline to keep your thumb from immediately touching the trigger and I have had inadvertent firing, but working on my thumb to ring finger touching through the release of tension method I began before watching this video greatly reduces any unintentional firing. I confirm your last method it works and greatly increases elbow to grip alignment. I now am using all the right muscles from draw to release and no pain in my shoulder. Everyone should shoot this way for health and accuracy. Btw, I am 54 and feel like I can compound shoot for another several years, when I thought I was starting to have to reduce my poundage and move to crossbow. Go hunting and shoot straight bowhunters!

Great video !! I have switched from an index to the Stan Onnex click. It does make you slow down and think about your shot process. It has made me way more consistent in my shooting. It takes some time getting used to and is pricey but well worth it.

Thank you for this great video. Another one infact. I found the second version, expanding the hand to be the best, however, this requires to be able to build pressure/tension with the back muscles as you stretch your hand. I find this very difficult in tournament. I have it working 40% of the time for the time being and wonder whether this could be related to my draw length. By all means, thank you for what you do, This is my only way to learn and I get a lot of inspiration from your videos. I can only thank you so much for bringing all this to me.

Did not like the thumb method with my Carter wise choice and couldn’t get comfortable with the push pull method. Purchased an Onnex click a couple weeks ago and the thumb method feels really good! Something about having a little bit of travel to let you know you are building pressure followed by the click helps me slow down. Great video!

I have used the build pressure with thumb method for 2 seasons now with the Stan Onnex thumb button. (Non clicker) it has greatly improved my groups after switching from a wrist strap trigger release. Very happy with this method. I have shot a lot of pistol and rifle, and building steady pressure on the trigger makes the most sense to me out of all the methods.

I started with an index and was building the horrible habit of “punching” the trigger. I watched this video and switched to the regular onnex. The second method is what I found to work the best for me. I attempted the first but would end up slightly pulling the string away from my face. This caused an inconsistency and was distracting me from focusing on my target. The second is almost a natural pull away. I adjusted the trigger so that my thumb will just touch my index. Mentally this tells me to relax and pull. I don’t even think about it once the touch. Just focus on my target

@BowOnlyOutdoors
@BowOnlyOutdoors 3 ай бұрын
@@OnTheMUV-PerformanceAndPurpose pretty natural for me to just have built up tension in my index finger with my thumb placed on the handle of the release. I then transition to the barrel once I’m on target. I don’t find this way comfortable with any other release outside of the UV, but it works well for it so that’s what I prefer on it. Other thumb buttons I have my thumb squeezed towards my pinky away from the thumb barrel when drawing so I don’t have an misfire.

@@garymatyok I wouldn’t say I have this figured out on where the “perfect” setting is quite yet, but as of my time behind it I prefer more movement to get to the click, with a firm but not heavy tension to get it to fire. Seems to work the best in hunting scenarios for me so far, but I’m sure it’s personal preference more than anything.

I really like increasing my back tension as I shoot as the primary way I activate the shot. But... It's easy to move too slowly during the shot. If that happens I switch to increasing pressure on my ring finger. So far it's been an effective one-two punch to get me through some difficult shots.

I find that contacting the barrel with my thumb and pulling the same way every time is my biggest challenge because I'm focussed on the pin. I try to break up my sequence into the setting up and aiming part and then move on to part two, the release part. I feel like I have the most anxiety to punch it when the pin settles dead center on the target and barely moves and I have mentality like, I need to get this shot off now! As far as how I activate the release, I try to choke up just a little on the barrel and then just gently pull and it fires. Curious where you set the force on your button. I'm one half turn from the lightest setting.
