Maintaining your knives is fun! Mostly. You may be involved in an epic battle with some stripped screws, or a gritty not so buttery smooooth action. But you've got this. Don't let a couple threads push you around. Fight back.
You can stock up on your knife maintenance needs here: www.knafs.com/collections/kni....

I keep an oiled microfiber cloth in a ziplock bag for oiling blades. Just hit the cloth with about 25 drops. It soaks in and distributes evenly. Wash when needed and re-oil the cloth every 3 months. Works great for fingerprints on handguns as well

Just bought my first knife today. Just a $6 Ozark from Walmart, but it is perfect for a beginner. I want to learnt to sharpen myself and keep things nice before I buy something nice. I love your blades, and will definitely look into them when I plan on making a purchase. Thanks for the info.

Been carrying the Lander every day since getting it. Awesome knife, thanks for creating it! Plus I love that it deals with the moon and space.

I LOVE my Lander, such a great design. Although I'm biased as I have all of Ben's designs and love them all in their own way.

I know this video isn’t recent but if Ben happens to read this. The knafs products are awesome! Keep it up! Been using the tool burrito & bit driver all the time. Don’t have the lander but plan to get the lander 2! Hopefully it has a lanyard post. Easier for me to draw deep carry knives with it!

I wash my blade after every use. And I alcohol the blade regularly too to keep it clean. You never know when you're doing to need to cut food.

I use mineral oil to lubricate my Swiss Army knife pivots. Gun oil seizes up the blades.

Great tips Ben. Thanks for sharing these and the quick demonstrations. I have all of your knives (apart from the Lander 2) and they're so easy to maintain. They're a joy to use and carry.

Added tip related to your tips 1 and 2. Added some benchmade blue cleaner to the pivot and blow it out with canned air before adding oil. The canned air is also good for cleaning out other parts of the knife. I do this about once a month for most of my knives and have never had to disassemble to clean

The less disassembly required the better. Sounds like a good system.

Canned air (or a compressor hand gun if you're lucky to have access to one) is great for clearing out between the scales. It's a great tip Jooky.

For a light cleaning of a knife, use a cotton swab, fabric swatch, or canned air to blow the pocket-lint out. A drop of oil on the pivot won't hurt also.

Cotton buds between the scales work great. I do this on my knives too and it really helps. Just be careful no cotton fibres get caught around the pivot.
