In Florida, you can wipe your ass with a non-compete, employment agreement. Florida is a strong right to work state.

No Benchmade, no MKC, nor Spyderco.. Look around you brothers, the amount of quality affordable knives is plentiful! Let these greedy companies hurt for a good while.

Bench made has been exhibiting a lot of symptoms of corporate dysfunction. The executives are making a killing while slowly driving the company brand into the dirt.

my real question - does MKC support the second amendment? i recall benchmade being spurned by the gun community years ago because they were donating to anti gun PACs or something?
@richardhenry1969Күн бұрын
I personally would not buy anything from either company. Benchmade because they donate to democrats and gun grabbers. Montana knife because they want $200+ for basic carbon steel. It's amazing people keep buying from a company donating to people stealing our freedoms.

THIS IS IT. DISGUSTING MOVE BY BENCHMADE. IM NEVER BUYING BENCHMADE AGAIN, AND I HOPE YOU ALL BOYCOTT THEM AS WELL. 🦨

For the baby banter having that tip jimping is awesome! I can see that being super useful for fishing/hunting and even whittling or crafting, whatever else. It's just a nice touch that's not as common as it should be.

The non-competes not getting killed is a huge problem! Imagine having to put your life on hold because your former employer just says so! Screw that! If companies don't want previous employees competing against them, they can freaking pay them well enough to stay or otherwise make a separate agreement AND PAY people to not compete. You can't just demand every employee screw themselves because of most likely hidden small print in an employment contract. As a company, if you're using non-competes you're a scummy company and deserve to fail! If you can't compete fairly and have to resort to forcing employees to sacrifice their careers to help yourselves you deserve to go out of business. Screw Benchmade for this! What dirt bags!
@JonLaRueКүн бұрын
The reason why Non-Competes shouldn’t exist is because it stymies people’s ability to earn an income… NDA’s are fine with me as it protects companies IP and is often used when company sub-contract out projects… The non-compete essentially locks good people to bad companies without hope of it getting something better.

I think I'm more likely to want the Baby Banter fixed blade than the folder and glad it still has Nitro-V steel. As a guy with big mitts, I'd probably prefer the handle be a little longer than original, instead of shorter. Benchmade are known for both overpriced folders and overpriced fixed blades. For what they sell their knives for they should be able to pay their people enough that they're not jumping ship to work elsewhere. I have a bunch of them I bought years ago, but if I was just starting out buying Benchmade knives I'd probably only end up owning a couple of them at their current pricing. A big problem is that their prices put them at a price point too close to much better knives, which means that's what I'll buy instead.
@SailfishSoundSystemКүн бұрын
Benchmade is following suit with Spyderco and their nonsense MAP price gouging. Does Benchmade still destroy things that use bullets protected by our 2nd Amendment? A Spydiechef is a 300 hundred dollar knife now. You could get a Sebenza for that. This is madness.

My opinion (and everybody has one) is.....I don't care if you went to design school, make KZbin videos or push a shopping cart full of aluminum cans around. If you design a great knife people will appreciate it and purchase. Who better to design a knife than people whose opinion I respect and base purchases upon who literally handle thousands of knives seeing the good and the bad. NEEVES and Metal Complex in my opinion know intrinsically what benchmarks need to be met and pitfalls to avoid to make and design a really great knife and then put a unique personal touch on it. Seems like a normal evolutionary step to me and I wish them much success.

Cash is king! BM needs to pay them more to stay. Perhaps it’s people/designers being hamstrung to stay in their lane. Therefore stifling their creativity. Either way…

I think a segment (maybe an extension of Moon Crew moment) where people share their knife story. I would love to hear people answer questions along the lines of “what was your first pocket knife, what’s your most sentimental knife, what’s your craziest knife related story?” It could be a one minute video lifted from a Facebook thread or a written submission.

Non-compete laws vary significantly by state. Some states, like California, have banned non-compete agreements altogether, making them unenforceable for nearly all employees. Other states enforce non-competes but often under strict conditions. I personally think non-competes laws are unconstitutional.

And if you think Benchmade charges a lot for their knives checkbout Montana knife Co. Theu are very price for fixed blades especially the ones with paracord wrapped handles or less.

I love your videos and its format with many sections, that keeps them interesting and fun. I’d like to hear more about knife laws in different places and knife suggestions according to those laws. I also love that, even if Ben isn’t a fan of something - like the neck knife- he’s willing to work with what people like. In that topic, I think it would be really fun if sometime you guys make a design-a-knife competition, even if it’s just for fun, I’m sure you’ll have a lot of entries 😅
