Great idea! Build over time, buy on ex- dividend date

Problem with small caps are..... if there is another financial crisis or "crash", small caps are going to get wrecked harder than anything else and might not really recover again for a long time.

you buy for the income
@ThatGuySyndromeАй бұрын
@@townebarbers9068 I'm all about risk adjusted returns. Unlimited down side risk in a higher implied volatility product like small caps. I'll pass on it. Doesnt make enough "income" to meet my money growth criteria for the risk. but it might for others.
@NotVoN0928Ай бұрын
Which I think would be alright when it happens. Rdte can buy more of itself for cheaper. If/when a reverse split needs to happen, then the increase of the reverse split would be a bit more larger, due to small caps increasing by large percentage again. A crash would be beneficial if A: you don't take any of the dividends when it does, B: you don't try to sell and take losses. Always be ready to adapt to the changes of the market my friends.

The guy is right regarding the problem with US small-cap stocks. This is why I have RDTE and Global X at the money covered call Russell 2000 RYLD ETF. Doing covered calls on the Russell 2000 versus owning the Russell 2000. You earn income on the the volatility of the index instead of owning the index.

Also need to add option play to that ETF to male more money.

34,000 for $1000 a month doesnt sound bad. My goal would be QDTE XDTE RDTE 1000 per fund a month. Covering the majority of my expenses not including mortage.

Whats your thought proccess behind this? Do you see strength in the Russell? Its been pretty bearish lately. over the past 3 months its down almost 4% and only up 11% on the year.

So about 85k plus about 65k in margin would get you there. It would get you a bit more but that will go for margin interest. YOLO

I enjoy following your journey.. I started myself a portfolio along with you.. a few months back. I’m going to challenge myself to live off the dividends for a month and deposit my entire paycheck to scwab 😁 just to see what happens. Mortgage food etc lol

RDTE has me concerned for sure just look at a similiar fund RYLD. It still hasnt recovered when it was at 24 bucks iwm was at 170. Covered call funds long term just dont hold up. This year there was very view stocks that didnt give a 25% return. Bull markets make everyone fat and happy. I know several people who retired during covid crisis on qyld and ryld. As back then they were the hot hot income plays paying 23 to 30 cents per month well they did that for a year till bear came then they dropped to 15 to 16 cents a month many had to come out of retirement. I see the same for some of these funds.
@juancdeliotejr5443Ай бұрын
What income fund would do well or recover best during a bear market or after a bear market?
@Adventure5619Ай бұрын
@ only one that kinda went to even was jepi. Ryld qyld didnt come close to back. None of the current funds have lived through a bear yet. I will sale all my ymax and spyi when it starts and go into bonds good thing about bear m. They usually dont last more then a year or two. Usually once the bottom appears you can buy back in.
