This was very solid advice and not just for a poker player. I've worked as a trader for about 4 years (2 independently, and 2 at a firm). The advice in this video can essentially be applied to any high risk venture, whether that be poker, trading, or any form of entrepreneurship. Cliches are cliches for a reason is an important aspect of this video, also the idea of "exposure" to open up other revenue streams for yourself is something commonly missed.

Again amazing video! I have a question about your exploit with MDA of the pool vs GTO. I actually want to do this, but I can't find any "overall GTO stats" to compare too. Obv flop is doable with aggregate reports, but it's much harder for turn/river. Hello Saulo, great video and great value, thank you :) I have a question about rake on GG, everyone saying that it’s very high there, but if you check primedope and compare rakes, so under nl50 GG has one of the best structures in industry. Yes, on nl50 rake is higher but not so much, so am I missing something? Why everybody just repeats the same? Thank you

Hey mate. I think the whole "gg is terrible" narrative is in fact a bit exaggerated. Humans in general like to belong to groups, and hating on GG has become something that unites grinders all over the world. I think they are a bit too greedy and charge excessively high rake, but at the same time they have essentially sparked a new poker boom single-handedly over the last few years with their innovations and great software, which is why you open up their client and see 300k players online, which is probably more than all of the other sites combined. Games on GG are beatable, particularly post-rakeback, you just gotta put a bit more effort compared to other sites

Olá Saulo, muito bom o seu conteúdo, acabou de ganhar mais um inscrito. Quando fala em ficar 5 ou 6 meses perdendo, fala de um modo geral ou para quem joga torneios? Porque tem sempre quem defenda que no cash game dá para ter lucros mais constantes. Eu gosto mais de jogar torneios, mas estou no pior downswing de sempre. Coloquei 30€(+ ou - 150 reais) e consegui chegar nos 7400 reais em uns 2 meses jogando torneios, fiquei em 2º lugar em 2 torneios multi table com premios que permitiram o aumento do bankroll. Daí para cá (faz uns 3 meses) tenho apanhado muitas bad beats, chega a ser inacreditavel a quantidade de vezes perdendo para 2 ou 3 outs. Como resultado, so me restam 2500 reais e estou pensando apostar somente no cash game por uns tempos, para tentar aumentar a banca. Acha uma boa decisão? I started grinding at 10nl with the help of value heavy coach Rufi. Getting familiar with theory helped me get to 50nl and taking a shot at 100nl. I was a slighly winning player at 50nl and with the rakeback it was a quite good monthly income. However i was putting a lot of volume not being consistent as u mentioned and that ruined my whole gameplan and confidence. I was just a robot playing 4 table zoom 50nl thinking im good enough to be a winning player playing 1000 hands per hour. Variance hit me hard and my game was so bad i lost my entire bankroll for 50nl. Now im grinding back at 25nl with the consistent playstyle not getting into a trap of putting more tables at once. Schedule and being consistent will help a lot i guess. ;)

With no other sources of income, you would need to either be a high volume high winrate 200nl player, or a medium volume medium winrate 500nl player. 60k hands at 3bb/100 equals to $9k/month or $99k/year (taking one month off)

i think it depends a lot on where you live, also, i never saw a person who simply "stoped everything" and started to only play poker without making decent money and a good solid winrate and sample size, anyway, i think up to 10k dolars is doable for many people to make, but, more than that is where things start to get really hard, so, if you live on the top 30~40 countrys with highest average salary, i think poker is not the best option overall, but, as a brazilian and knowing that saulo is also brazillian, i can tell you that even 1k dollars a month is already more money than most people make here, so....

@Lukas I don't think one can determine what is wise or not looking solely at money...I would take being a poker player and making 100k/year vs making $200k in a corporate office job, all day everyday. Also don't think I can agree with your claim that one can make "50k with the most crappy job", even in developed countries. Quick google search shows that about 20% of people in Germany, the richest country in Europe, live in poverty... Finally, I get that in developed countries the financial aspect of being a poker player is not so exciting as it is in other places, however I would argue this is not (and shouldn't be) the only factor for choosing a career. Being a professional poker player allows for levels of freedom and autonomy that can hardly be matched by standard jobs. Anyways, I don't claim to have all the answers or have everything figure out on such a nuanced and delicate topic, but I keep what I said above - cannot and will never agree that professional poker is financial/career suicide for most people
