How to Make 2 Easy DIY Stick Boomerangs! (Bi & Quad-Blade) - Rob's World

This is a very easy tutorial which will show you how to make 2 Easy Stick Boomerangs which really fly back as I show you in the beginning. Have fun!

In this tutorial, I will show you how to make 2 Easy and really Awesome Stick Boomerangs (DIY) I independently designed! (Though they may not be the first of their kind) These are designed out of real wood and fly great and really come back! The Bi-Blade and Quad-Blade boomerangs are made with Jumbo Craft Sticks you can get either online or at a local craft store.
For the tutorial you'll need:
6 Craft Sticks
1-2 Rubber Bands
Tape: I use Clear Packaging tape in the video, but you can try masking, scotch, electric, or other tape.
A Ruler with Metric Units (Millimeters, Centimeters, etc.)
Pencil/Pen
Sharp Scissors
Gloves if you would like to protect your hands
A Nail File or Sandpaper (not totally required but useful)
Once you have all the supplies, I will show you how to make an air foil on the sticks using the scissors to shave the wood down. After smoothing it out with the file or sandpaper you will then tape the sticks together, then use a rubber band to ensure it is secure.
Once you make them, you'll need to practice throwing them! Be sure to watch the whole video to see the instructions on throwing at the end!

+ATG Hey! Thanks for the comments, glad you enjoyed the video. What happens when you throw the Quad-blade? Just make sure the airfoils are all facing the left on top of the boomerang as I show in the video. It will take some time to get the throw right but it should work with a little practice and/or tweaking. Hope that helps!

what happens if you don't make the air foils? It would be too dangerous for that part with students, would it still work?

I think before I tried to make the air foils I tried to break/bend the sides. It didn’t work as well but you can give it a shot. Even so, it isn’t really dangerous at all, you can probably use some sandpaper, nail files or even safety scissors as you don’t really need to remove that much.

Hey burt, thanks for your comment in my last video :-) I think if you wanted to use an Xacto knife or something like that it should work. I was actually going to include that but couldn't find mine and figured scissors would be a bit safer for everyone. I actually cut myself using them in a different (silly) way so I was sure to be extra careful.
