7s is a better configuration for 24V if using 3.7V nominal cells. Also, from the looks of that wire that 12A BMS will not protect the wire from insulation failure from overheating due to exceeding it's ampacity.

The discharge value is 3.7 volts but 4.2 volts at full charge. Then 4.2 volts x 6 cells = 25,2 volts.

So many risks, so little advice to protect the inexperienced!! 18650 Li-ion cells can catch fire and become fireworks! This is more likely to happen when soldering wires to cell!! Much safer to spot weld! The combustion events can happen days or weeks after soldering.... Do not try this at home, unless you know exactly what you are doing!

7S is far better for a 24v lithium ion battery 7S at 100% charge will deliver 29.3v which is perfect for powering 24v devices like power inverters and portable fridges.etc 6S will still work but you will get vastly lower runtime and in the case of DC motors, you will also get lower performance to keep the rectangular shape, have 7S in a straight line or use an even P number (7S 2P for example)

Someone please help me... I used the same BMS but when i want to charge the pack and plug in the charger, i get a huge spark in the connector. I already destroyed 2 chargers and now also the connector. It's in a permanently sealed bluetooth speaker so i'll have to completely start this project over :( I don't uncerstand because i didn't make any mistakes in the wiring, used a correct charger, ... I did everything right but this sparking issue is driving me crazy. I spent a lot of work in this thing and i was only able to use it for 2 days until the battery died. Also it has cost me some decent amount of money because RIP those 2 brand new chargers i bought especially for this project :/

Never try soldering to a relatively large chunk of metal like a battery even with good flux. Given a little rough handling they will fail. If you want a starter project make yourself a cheap spot welder .. plenty of examples on KZbin ... then join the batteries with strip metal.

Disliked for the following reasons: - You can't just hook up a constant voltage power supply for charging. These cells sometimes have a max. charging current of only 1A. This is very dangerous. You need a dedicated charger. - you are propably save though, because the wire gauge you used is undersized and does not allow more than 1A - come on, a wire stripper is only $15 or so, put that knife away - stop using scissors for cutting wires - improve your soldering

Jeffery .W Its really hard to solder a 18650 battery. There is a coating that solder doesn't stick too. So you need to sand down the ends. Also use a wide tip soldering iron. But its really not a good idea to solder 18650 batteries. To much heat. If you care about your batteries the best way is to spot weld them.

Am I the only one who knows that you need a 7s config to make a 24v battery? With 6s, 24v motors will shut down from low voltage with a LOT of juice left in the cells! You are basically cutting the capacity of those cells in half by using 6s!

A reinvented car battery. Most auto batteries were designed back in 8 cylinder days. Every car now has 6 or 4 cylinders. Perhaps, not as much need to start a 4 cylinder, so no need to carry a 60 lb battery. Just a thought.
