Check out how I made this 3D style cutting board as a birthday gift for my Mom. It's made of maple, walnut, and mahogany.

No doubt in my mind this is the best video of the 3-D cutting board I have seen. I’ve watched a lot but it’s very very very good thank you

I enjoyed your video and you did a great job of explaining your process. Thank you!

Most people: **deliver background info on the project by addressing the audience** One of my new favorite makers: **has a whole conversation with an R2 unit about his mother, while making marvel references**

The final board came out amazing! I have a Bosch 4100XC-10 table saw as well that I use to make cutting boards among other things. Anyway, to prevent burning when I use hardwoods, especially hard maple, whether it be plain or curly, I use a brand new or freshly sharpened blade.

Absolutely brilliant video! We enjoyed that very much. The conversation with R2 was epic but the build itself was very impressive. Great job. Keep the videos coming!

Looks great what kind of glue did you use. Everyone wants to know . Overtime you cut into the glue and it gets into your food what type of glue are we using animal vegetable mineral epoxy what. People want to know. You have to get food grade glue. You can't use anything you want for a cutting board.!!!!!!!! Please be kind and forward this information to everyone you know because no one is telling anybody what kind of glue they're using. Yeah looks pretty. But is it dangerous.????

Amazing .

You might want to try gluing the two bowed pieces together with the inside of the bows facing each other. Once clamped they will straighten out.

Also, the shapes are parallelograms, but more specifically they are equilateral parallelograms, otherwise known as rhombuses.

What was the one tiny adjustment you needed to make before making all the cross cuts?

There's another video on KZbin of someone making this exact same cutting board and it has 10 times as many views as yours, however the quality on that video does not compare to yours. you did a great job and I hope you get a lot more views

I came across your video on making a 3D cutting board; I'm new to woodworking, your video is great, but do you have written instructions on this project? I'm trying to figure out how much rough lumber to buy, and the dimensions of both the rough lumber & sizes of the small pieces. Thanx.

A couple of points for some help: A shame you didn’t get the grain all in the right direction! Never push the stock against a solid stop. Very easy to track the cut-off piece.

@autodidacticartisan2 жыл бұрын
A block that measures(exactly) 1"x2"x3"

How thick is the cutting board?

It ended up a little over an inch thick.

Help, your board is great but for some reason I can't get my three pieces to line up. One is too big but the are all the exact same size and cut at a 30 degree angle. If you have an email address I would be glad to send you a picture. Thank you.

I got it right the other day on test peices.I think it's off ⅛, throwing off my fit.Should be perfect daimond.

I got it!I put my off cut diamond up against my stop block and locked my miter blade and pushed my stop block over till my diamond block touched it.It was perfect mirror cut.

Is that waterproof glue?
@ThatGeekyMaker3 жыл бұрын
It's Titebond II, which is water resistant.

Awwww.... all that work and focus on grain direction and it appears one block is wrong, right in the middle of the board. When you're holding it at the end of the video, it's just below your fingertips... down one row.

Stop all the BS in the beginning. Totally waste of time.
