Scratch building a low power SET stereo amplifier using a low cost 6DN7 tube that you would typically find in a television. This tube has dissimilar triodes that are easy to wire into a great sound low power SET amplifier. I made to look like a old military device (this will be used for a shop stereo system)
This amp produces around 1.5 - 2 watts of sonic goodness! (I was blown away!)
These TV tubes have a wide range 25Hz - 21,000Hz (dependant on the OT used)
Deep bass, crisp/bright highs and a wide sound stage.
Specs:
Two 6DN7 vacuum tubes (1 per channel)
Two 5k Primary - 8ohm output transformer (i.e. Hammond 125BSE)
One 275-0-275 ~80ma power transformer (i.e. Hammond 270CX, 270DV, 271X)
