I love this video..you made it look so easy..and it was easy to do..My daughter had her baby on the 27th of April, 2016...(he wasn't due until May 22nd) .I have priced these covers and they want like $39.99 to $50.00 each for them..I said no way in heck was I going to pay that much for them..so I looked and found your video...I have a lot of material here and decided to make a couple of these...I ended up making 4 all at one time....I have them all done except for putting the Velcro on the straps..but want to wait until I go to my daughters house so I can measure the carseat to the covers...IF these turn out looking good..I am going to see about making more and selling them for maybe $15.00 to $20.00 each and try saving others some money while I make a dollar or two at the same time...Thank you for sharing this awesome video with us..!!!

thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm kind of a beginner sewer and I followed your tutorial and successfully made a very cute car seat canopy. I was going to spend $45 on one that someone else would make for me, but I spent less than $15 to make it myself. I love how it turned out. thank you so much!!!!! :)

I enjoyed your video, not much talking right to the point. I have sewn on minky fabric and found using a walking foot or a teflon coated presser foot helps the slipping problem. Looking forward to more of your videos.

Milena Cupcakelove the largest piece is 36"x 42" and the straps are 12"x7". You would make the straps smaller, mine were pretty long which isn't necessary. Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.

I have the Eddie Bauer alpine 3 car seat from target. It comes as a travel system. The measurements I give should work with most car seats. Now there will be some it won't work with so just be aware. Thanks for watching!

lol, I watched most of this video and when it got to 6mins I skipped to see the result and was surprised that this is a car seat cover but not for a vehicle car seat cover for a baby car seat. The reason I was looking for a vehicle car seat cover DIY to protect the seat from the digging in of the car seat and overall messes was because we bought some car seat covers off Amazon months ago and they basically ruined the leather back seat where it was placed on two vehicles. It created like a yellow/orange staining that will not come off, we reached out the manufacturer and they paid for restoring the leather a month ago. Long story short the restoration did not resolve the issue because the color is seeping through once again. I am now terrified of anything you can buy to cover your car seat. Great video though!

can you let us know how much of each fabric did you buy? just so we arent buying more/less of the fabric?

How long did it take you to make this? A couple of hours or like a day?

Emilia Hernandez I haven't tried this but I would just suggest that you measure a few times to make sure you have it correct and make sure it will line up correctly.

About how much does it cost to make ur own???
@sarahchristian72837 жыл бұрын
CelesteMoonfang depends on fabric type.. you can buy cotton fabric for less than $4 a yard at Joann's and the whole project could cost you less than $10... the minky is a little more pricey and in Florida it might be too hot for us to use. so choose fabric in your budget and design and you can make it a very projecy
@meaghanelison74367 жыл бұрын
I'm wanting to make one as a baby shower gift. Do you have any generic measurements that you could do when sewing on the straps that could work for any kind? I know it's hard because each brand is different. I'm not sure what car seat they have and I don't want to give it away.
@mysewbliss6 жыл бұрын
CelesteMoonfang this cost me about $25 because of the fabric I used. But you could use cheaper fabric and it wouldn’t cost much.
