A quick tip: If you don't have or want to buy the spray paints, all of this can be done with a brush and regular acrylic craft paints as well. It just takes a lot longer, but it can be done.

Then found a site called matten-online.nl but there are a lot of different sites that sell these. I ordered mine in the Netherlands as it my neighbouring country. Thank you very much. That's a good question, I was actually contemplating the same thing. It is on my to do list so I will definitely test it out. I think it all depends dq if you want to go full snow or want to have some grass or dit showing through. But i think it can be done. Definitely on my list to make 😉. Thanks for watching

Great mat! Would a light brush over the rocky bits with a brown or black wash work to add a bit more definition.

great video! what is your general opinion on the primer spray can from action? would you use it for minis as well?

Thank you very much 🙏. The black one from action i use it all the time so that 1 is definitely good. The grey one, maybe if you spray from far enough and only Dust spray it, then yes, i think it is good, but if you plan to use contrast Paints I would advice against it honestly, though i did not use the grey primer (Improved quality) on a mini yet...something holds me back from using it haha. But the matt black one is solid 👍. Thanks for watching 😉

Thanks for sharing, I wonder if it's possible to do this on fleece (minus the rock formations). I'm looking to make a 90 by 180 cm mat for Argatoria and I'm not going to drop €90+ euro's on one from Deep Cut Studio when Action sells fleece blankets for less than 10 🤪 And since we have one in Wijnegem Shopping Centre AND Pipoos on the same floor I can pick up a cheap-ish spraypaint or 2 at the same time 🙂

I have not tried it with a fleece but in theory it should work. I think with spraycans it would have the same effect as with this mat. Just mix the colors like I did here. Yeah the mats from deep cut are very cool but pricey. And I like to make stuff myself hehe. Let me know how It turned out 😉. I know the action in Wijnegem . I am from Antwerp myself 😁. I already made a grass/snow battle mat using acrylic caulking but when I see that one in Lidl I am soooo tempted to buy it because it’s cheap and looks durable. Well done with yours, never thought about using thin cork for a battle mat. 👌

Also all my DnD tiles are also build, it the same mats and techniques but instead of spray cans I used regular craft paints. Hehe yeah Cork is an awesome material 😉👍
