The best way to try it is to get the Studio One Plus for a month. $25 and you can try out EVERYTHING. Then if you don't like it or want to go back to your previous DAW then you're only out the cost of a doordash order. :)

Hey Reid, I love your videos, your videos always made me happy when I started making music, can you teach me anything about home studios that you couldn't fit in a previous video?
@ReidStefanMusicКүн бұрын
Yes when setting up your home studio desk position, if your room is a rectangle shape, setup your desk so the speakers are facing towards the longer distance wall. Long narrow rooms sound better than wide short rooms in your speaker’s low end. Also don’t setup directly against the wall, leave a couple feet of gap for your speakers to perform best

Any videos on how to make MUSIC in studio one 7? Or are all the new features designed exclusively for EDM drivel?
@ReidStefanMusicКүн бұрын
There’s very few new videos about recording traditional instruments because nothing has changed since 20 years ago. Plug your mic in, create an audio track, record yourself playing an instrument good, add plugins to recordings, repeat. Also Very few people can afford the luxury to acquire, practice, and record loud, expensive, complex traditional/acoustic instruments, so we choose digital tools and instruments that help produce the modern genres of music we like.
@user-zj4tt2ey9oКүн бұрын
@@ReidStefanMusic Sorry, but Studio One is nowhere near caught up with DAWs like Pro Tools when it comes to traditional recording, editing and mixing styles. The idea that the DAW is already perfect for those scenarios and needs no improvement is frankly ridiculous. Their feature request forums are packed with unaddressed bugs, updates to bring it to parity with other DAWs in certain tasks and customisation, and all of it has been shirked for years and years in favour of updates that are specific to one niche of production - electronic midi/sample based music. It's simply unacceptable for a DAW to discriminate so heavily towards a single genre - unless they advertise it that way explicitly, but they do not, they pretend on the surface that S1 is an all-purpose DAW.
@ReidStefanMusicКүн бұрын
@@user-zj4tt2ey9ochronologically speaking, ProTools has a 10+ more years in the game than any other DAW, and it was introduced at a time when recording traditional bands was practically the only way to make popular music. Naturally ProTools will be more developed and specialized for that circumstance. Protools is also expensive as hell, and lacks any useful features for electronic music makers

No, the selling point of S1 is that virtually EVERYTHING in the UI is drag-drop. Samples. Instruments. Effects. Entire effects chains. Entire arrangements. Basically anything on S1 you can click on you can drag and drop. The SPLICE integration is just a new feature for people who like using Splice. It's just a shortcut integration that saves a step of saving the sample then manually importing the sample into the DAW. But you can still do that if you like extra work LOL

I don't understand why the tracks of impact xt are not split up so that they can also be arranged in the arrangement. So I only ever have one track. In Logic I have a drum machine designer and then the individual patterns without having to route. Really awkward. Or I don't know how to do it properly.

Right click the impact track and hit duplicate button. (Not the duplicate(complete) one ). And once you have duplicated track just rename it as whatever (snare, hat etc. keep duplicating it as long as you want now and you would have seperate tracks in your arrangement window for your drums programming just like logic (probably even better).
