BIG CORRECTION: This KEYBOARD DOES NOT HAVE Polyphonic Aftertouch, it has MONOPHONIC AFTERTOUCH. I was working with an early version of the manual that was not final so I should have double checked. @Taetro: Do you find it odd that the manual would mention a poly aftertouch, but Arturia delivers a controller with mono aftertouch? It could be a simple typo on their part… or perhaps a hint of an upgrade? It would be interesting to know which Fatar keybed is used in the controller, and whether or not it can upgraded with firmware?

@@NexxuSixagreed! Would be cool to know. But honestly if it’s just a matter of firmware upgrade, why wouldn’t they implement that at launch? It’s a big selling point.

That keyboard looks so beautiful and well made! Such a fun beat too and it’s cool that you used mostly Arturia sounds they have some of the best sounds without having to mess with anything too much.

I'm stuck between this and the Novation Launchkey MK4, i keep going round in circles! Would you say the Arturia is easy to use with Abelton? Navigation/plugin (stock and 3rd party) adjustment etc?

This MIDI keyboard does NOT have polyphonic after touch. It has Monophonic aftertouch, also known as channel pressure or mono pressure. It measures the overall pressure applied to a MIDI keyboard's keys, regardless of which keys are pressed, It transmits the highest aftertouch value of the keys being held. 0:46

@@Taetro it’s all good player. Its an easy mistake. Let’s be honest tho, I think it’s safe to say that we all expected Arturia’s flagship MIDI Controller to come stock with something as simple as Polyphonic after touch this deep into 2024. They really fumbled the bag here🤦🏽‍♂️

Seeing how you record your music, would you rather use Keylab 61 MK3 or NI Kontrol S61? If you could keep just one of them.

I am curious how you find the transport controls on this unit? Inside of Logic Pro the transport it very limited sadly. I don't know how it is inside the DAW you are using. In Logic, the loop button only allows you to turn it on and off, you cannot set the start or end points from the KeyLab controller any more. As well, the transport FWD / REV only move a single bar per click so if you are moving more than a few bars in either direction it is very tedious to the point of impractical. If for example you were working on a longer song you can easily get upwards of 140-200+ bars of music in a single project file. If you need to move around inside that song, the single bar movement buttons are useless as it would take 100+ clicks to get from the beginning to the mid point of the project. It would have made far move sense to have the main controller encoder for position in a track, and have the single click transport buttons to select the track number. I am curious to your thoughts?

Are they going to release other sizes? I see 49 and 61 now. Does it play nicely with Native Instruments hardware/software? Bitwig? The only Arturia software I have is Pigments, but it sounds like this has a nice set of controls and keybed Edit: should be pretty well integrated, found product page and it says Bitwig is fully supported. Software includes analog lab pro ($200) and some other arturia -mini v ($200) and piano v ($250), etc, and native instruments the gentleman, so that should mean good Kontakt support at least

Can you please make a Beat/Melodies with the M-Wave Mk2 with the Smart Chords. I understand how to activate them but cant find a Workflow with that.

In DAW mode, not able to browse and select the instrument in analog 5 in a track, but if I change the program into Arturia mode, browsing does work. I don’t know how to fix this in daw mode

yes this is how it is designed, to navigate the arturia library, you have to be in arturia mode

Have a look at NOVATION. They have a specific FL keyboard range. Currently in MK3 version. They might come up with an MK4 in the near future.

When is something just a "beat" as opposed to an actual "song"? Or is "beat" truly just the slang of "song" for the last decade?

well in this session we don’t really finish with a complete song, just a beat that will need to be expanded at some point to become a full song. But also for instrumental music might be referred to as a beat since it doesn’t have a “singer” to make it a “song”. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what you call it.
