This video kinda made me sad. 😪 There were so many things wrong in this video. I'm not knocking these guys for working hard. But I'm a craftsman. And when I see a concern or a problem. I struggle not to say anything. This enclosure has the potential to sound really good. But if you don't truly control the air movement. It can mess everything up. For example, that subwoofer didn't have any type of sealant. When I say sealant I mean. Closed cell foam gasket tape. To keep the air separate from chamber to chamber. That removable port didn't have any either. Without it you are just asking for. Distortion and tuning issues for starters. Also only using staples & what looks like. White wood glue to keep the enclosure together. Even though it is ported. Once it hits a certain SPL level. That joint can & will separate. Weak glue & staples trying to hold. A porous mdf together under pressure. Is asking a lot of them. Even harder to hold particleboard. Together under pressure & stress. Predrilled screws are always a good thing. For mdf & particleboard. Why do all that work to have it not sound good. Because of overlooked details?
