KOL Zoro never had a sword specifically made for him. I think that after the Wano War ends, Tenguyama Hitetsu will reforge the blades from both Sandai and Nidai Kitetsu to create a new Kitetsu that will rival the OG Shodai Kitetsu. It will be Zoro's first sword that has been created specifically for him by a swordsmith. Just my headcanon.

For example Enma when it gets into its black blade form, it would be stronger than any of the black blades we seen Zoro do previously but it wouldnt be on Mihawk black blade lvl. TBB (Mihawk and Ryuma) > Psuedo TBB (Enma) > Black Blade (Zoro) If anything Wado should be turned into a TBB because of the fact that his bond with that sword extends any bond he has with the others and the constant reapplication of haki. and maybe after the series is over zoro would turn his remaining swords into TBB.

yeah I have this idea that blackening a blade is like dominating the swords will fully or corrupting the blade with your will. I also think that a black blade isn't their strongest form. I think the breath of all things has something to do with it and the whole poneglyphs being unbreakable leads me to think there is lvls of an object that is better then the blackening of it. almost like a yin yang type thing or even both together a balance of them. so there might be 2 lvls of blades we don't know yet. like a whitening lvl or awakening or freeing the swords will and a perfect balancing lvl where you reach harmony with your sword. because that is something about the poneglyphs they just look like stone. maybe they are just that stone and just have been harden into being that way. indestructible. like some forms of writing is an art and you become one with your art so maybe that's why poneglyphs are indestructible is because someone became one with them as carving them. like harmony has to be reached to carve them. maybe Zoro will end up with not just a black blade but a white one and a harmony one also. 3 different lvls of blades each with their own goods and bads to them all. like maybe a cursed blade needs to be dominated to make it black but what if you free said curse from the blade or tame the curse. like what is a cursed blade and how is it different. maybe a cursed blade is just the birth of the blades spirit. but yeah the whole thing of zoro cutting a logia fruit user with shusui a black blade and not killing her means that maybe the whole black blade isn't about haki at all. everyone thinks haki because armorment is black and black blade. mihawks blade was black before haki was really see able. many characters were said to be using haki at points but we didn't see the blackening of them but mihawks blade was always black...so maybe not haki at all. lots of theories about it that's for sure

We know from Wano that swords are imbued with the spirit of the person that used it. That's why, in Ringo, the swordmen are buried with their swords. I think that's what a black blade is--a blade imbued by a swordsman of such an incredible spirit. "Why didn't Roger have a black blade then?" I think there is a misunderstanding of what "swordsmen" are. It isn't JUST wielding a sword. There's an almost religious aspect to it. In real life, that would be similar to Bushido or Shintoism. Zoro is a swordsman, in that he "practices" swordsmanship. That includes more than just fighting with a sword.

Please talk about the plot hole regarding Enma's size decrease. Oden was 12 feet tall and his blades were half his size. Enma should be as long as Zoro is tall unless it was broken or reforged.

Katana blades are generally between 2-3 feet long in One Piece. If a man Oden's size wielded Zoro's swords they would look like he were holding knifes (good example of this is 'Zoro vs Dice' in Film Gold where Dice managed to steal Shisui and Kitetsu)

Pouring Haki into something to the point it just stays there, makes sense. We've seen the Kuja use arrows they put Haki into, and by definition of it being an arrow, it has to hold that Haki after being let go to be useful at all. So you don't need constant physical contact to keep Haki imbedded into an object. Black Blades could definitely be made by someone drowning their sword in Haki over a long enough period of time. (Not saying that would be the only method, but with what we've seen before its certainly a logical option)

Okay my theory: We have seen inanimate objects have a "will" of its own, like the merry, Spandams sword and the dog from Alabasta. What if you have to care about these objects enough for them to get a soul? It would explain why for example shanks and roger didn't have a black blade, because they are not swordsman in the classic sense and therefore don't really take care of their swords. This could also be perfect for the Zoro vs Shiryu fight, where Zoro could make his sword(s) a TBB.

I like the demon souls theory a lot, absorbed souls of fallen swordsman, turning the sword to black permanently. Souls represent will, which represents haki. Soul rests permanently within a sword therefore, black permanently.

Maybe it has to do with fulfilling the will of a blade or the will of it’s primary owner. So Emma must cut Kaido and Wado must win against the greatest swordsmen. This could also mean a cursed blade with extreme bloodlust can never become a TBB since the will to spill blood is limitless.

I agree with Mr. Morj that devil fruits reveal something about the person's personality. I think Shiryu's invisibility represents his dishonor, and that would make him a perfect foil for Zoro, who has been portrayed as very honorable. I think Zoro will have 3 final fights against Mihawk, Fujitora, and Shiryu. Obviously, you already touched on Mihawk, so I'll comment on the other two. I believe Zoro has an honorable battle with Fujitora when the world government is being taken down, and I think it will be interrupted with Shiryu stabbing him in the back. I know it seems stupid at face value, how does an invisibility help you sneak up on a blind man, especially when they can sense your presence? But when you consider it, a lot of characters can do a similar feat, so the only way invisibility will be viable is if it conceals your spiritual presence as well. And this is how I believe Shiryu will be able to stab Fujitora in the back. This, of course, will set up a conflict between Zoro and Shiryu.

I feel like its advance application of armament haki. Isn't aramanet usually referred to as a black coating? So say if you used something similar to luffy internal destruction you pour haki on the inside but you don't destroy the object but keep it there. If a swordsman did it to their sword it could change the sword internally reforging it into a black blade.

I feel like only people truly dedicated to the art of swordsmanship with really strong haki can create a black blade hence why people like rodger, white beard and Shanks dont have one because while they use blades they didn't dedicate themselves to the way of the sword the only person I can think of that this doesn't work for is Oden so maybe you need to have the blade for a certain amount of time as well.

Thoughts, the soul of King flows into Enma turning it into a black blade. Then somehow The soul of Kuina flows into wado ichimonji turning it into a black blade. Then at some point zoro replaces the sandai kitetsu with the shodai kitetsu, defeats Mihawk, and their soul turns that into a black blade.

Since Zoro never turn a sword into a black blade Zoro doesn't have that connection with his sword and he can't use the full strength of other black blade users. Basically Zoro need to bond with his sword like a Bleach character.

Rising in rank into a black blade is just the users impressive feats and winning hard fights with the blades infused in haki. Mihawk fighting a yonko (shanks) Zoro also fighting with a yonko (laido) assuming Enma becoming a black blade at the end of wano.

I think Oda's going to go along the lines of calling the "Black Blade progress" to something like "staining". Basically meaning you have to have an advanced understanding and or proficiently using Armament Haki, and pouring an extreme amount of it in to a blade, basically "staining" or permanently imbuing a user's Haki in to a blade, or hell he might go crazy and apply this to any weapon or object.
