Hello! I have a question about the fuller figures. In the previous taped sloper-to-flat pattern video you decided that the model wasn't quite full enough to extend her below-waist (skirt) darts through to the bottom of the sloper (i.e.-the hipline). How do I draft the skirt sloper darts if the darts on the intial torso sloper were extended into the hipline (for a fuller person)? In other words, what should the pattern end up looking like? Is this dart depth for fuller figures a standard measurement or is there a custom dart depth? Thanks so much for this information as always.

Hi, Clauselmilord, GREAT QUESTION! If you look at this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqm9k6KGnbSfgcksi=I4HznA5c_Y3c-oVp at minute 1:09 you will see that the torso sloper front I am using does not have the dart extend to the hip. The reason is that the model was super skinny. It is the larger bust that makes it better to do the extension yours has. So, what you can do is measure what that extension is, ( I believe on the fuller model that I draped a sloper on had an extension to the hipline that is 1/4"). On your sloper (paper that you can cut) cut up the middle of that long extension and close it all the way up to the waist. In other words, shut the extension equally to the waist. If your extension at the hipline is 1/4" then close the entire sloper 1/4". If it's 1/2" do the same, shut it entirely. What this will do at the top of the waist dart is to make it that much narrower. Does this make sense? I think it will work perfectly. I am going to work this out tomorrow and if I see a problem I will get back to you. Thanks for asking! Thanks for watching!

Sally could I please clarify one thing - when you sew the fitting shell do you sew the seams on the sloper pattern line? Do you, for example sew with one inch seam allowances on the side seams? Or do you sew with a standard seam allowance, and the extra allowed is for fitting ease? This video is inspiring, thank you!

Hello, Loisg2316, Thank you for asking! I DO sew a 1" seam down the sides so that IF I need to let it out I have something to work with. So , yes, I do sew on the sloper pattern line. I hope this answers your question. If you are not completely clear, just let me know. I am SO happy you are inspired by the tutorial! Thank you for asking and for commenting! Happy Sewing!
