This video, plus the ones you make for crates and camo netting will come in handy for when I work on my space port/space dock yards terrain. Keep up the good work!

You can add little sticks and foliage for added camouflage detail.

This terrain piece looks better than most tank paint jobs on the table lol... I wonder if you could collab with 'Scratch Basing' here on youtube one day. He hoards gribbly small items for scratch builds, but he has great DIY techniques as well. If you'd like a topic to cover, I'd be interested in how to get some "landfill"/junk yard 40k basing/terrain done. I have some cogs and cables (I split apart a modem cable for small scale wiring), but I'm missing some things that add more detail to fill out the bases. Pipes from brrush covers or split apart wine corks for concrete chunks for example.

That'd be cool. Scratch Bashing does some mindblowing builds! 🤯 Good idea. 👍 I think Bill Makes Stuff has a tutorial has a junk yard tutorial.

The net looks great! I never thought of using foam to build a tank as a stand in for the model but it is a good idea. Thanks for sharing this.

This looks really cool and might use some of these as terrain pieces for "Modern" games that don't have vehicles (Zona Alfa, Last Days Zombie Apocalypse or Close Quarter Battle).

This gives me an idea: how many tanks could you make using this and a single tank kit from GW - so one element original sprue, the rest foam covered in netting. With all the different weapon options and accessories in the Leman Russ, could you fill en entire heavy detachment with a single kit?
@thomaspetersen4105 Жыл бұрын
Nice idea- this gives the option to let some parts of the tank uncovert- for example the left track on one tank, the right track on anohter, the turret on a third etc.

What kind of foam would you recommend? I really wanna make 2 of these for my raptors
@thecultofcrafting Жыл бұрын
XPS foam for sure, if you can find it. Someone commented that he'd folded some out of cardboard, so that's an option too. 😁

I did this about a month ago and I used paper craft templates to make the tanks. Also did plane which was cool
@thecultofcrafting Жыл бұрын
Cool! I've never tried paper craft for the hobby. Like, specific printed templates for tanks or did you just fold some shapes and stuck them together like I did?

Another great build. One way to add little more contrasting detail would be to add hessian streamers to the barrel instead of netting. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r33cY6Kcgtpkq80 did a good example.

Okay, now THIS ONE seems a bit far fetched... Any good War Thunder player knows that the only effective way to camouflage a tank is to put a bush right on top of the turret, so that nothing is actually obscured from view unless you are hiding in the brush... Smh🤦
