THANK YOU! I had seen how to make the card box before but did not write instructions. Today I need to make one and had totally forgotten how to do it. I just wrote the instructions down on my Env Punch Board measuring page (I cant read the measurements on the board at all, had to use a magnifying glass, and my phone to increase the letters/numbers). I need a card box for a 5.5x7.5 anniversary card. I have followed your directions but have a problem with the second score as the punchboard doesn't go that far. I need my second score to be at 5 5/8 it only goes to 5... HELP please!!!

Excellent tutorial. How do you figure the amount to increase the paper size? Also, what was the reason you added 1/8th inch to the first punch/score? I'm trying to figure out a simple guide to convert different envelope sizes to make card boxes like yours. Thank you.

+karodora I added 1/8 of an inch to the first score line because the sizes listed on the Envelop Punch Board are for making envelopes. Since we are making a box to hold envelopes (and cards) it needs to be a little larger than the envelopes so they can fit comfortably inside. You need to add the 1 1/4 inches to the length and width of your cardstock to allow for the thickness of the box. I was definitely not the first person to figure out how to do this. There are lots of smart, crafty people who make amazing things with the Envelope Punch Board. I hope you are enjoying yours.

I think it may have been an attempt to make the tool more compact since most crafters have limited storage space but I am really not certain. I also would have liked a larger platform.

Hi Crafting4fun247 - You've stumped me and I'm hoping to clear this up. You said that your chart was telling you to cut your paper to 8.1/2 x 8.1/2 however, in order for the box to work, you need to add 1.1/4 to the paper. But then you ended up cutting your paper to 9.1/4 . . . shouldn't it be 9.3/4 ? I cannot figure out how you 8.1/2 plus 1.1/4 equals 9.1/4. What am I missing? When I add 1.1/4 to 8.1/2, I come up with 9.3/4.

Oops! I made an error when I was restating the cutting directions. The score board says to use 8 x 8 inch paper for a 4/1/4 x 5 1/2 envelope. 8 plus 1 1/4 is 9 1/4. The second time I repeated the instructions I mistakenly said the score board said to begin with 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch paper. I am sorry for the confusion I created. I hope you have had a chance to try this project and that it worked out well for you....Happy Crafting

I have the Punch Board and the measurements they give you are NOT the same as the measurements on the Stampin UP board.... Frustrated, .....

I just compared the We Are Memory Keepers board and the Stampin Up board. The tools are identical except for color and slight differences in the chart at the bottom. One noticeable difference is that SU board lists info for a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 envelope and the MRMK board does not. On the SU board is says to use a 8 x 8 inch paper and 3 1/2 inch score line. I am sorry that you have been frustrated. I'd add a piece of label tape to the WRMK board with these measurements so you have them handy in the future.... Happy Crafting
