I was to make similar thing woth pet bottle and flow down naturally. Though there s some volume this version isnt bad i was thinking how to set veges in bottle. And maybe small version of bottles linked down below will be good horizontally.

good and simple design, only issue you're going to have is algae build up since the containers are clear.

Love your videos, watching you clean up your hole with a knife was painful though. I use a metal handled swivelling deburring tool, they clean up the holes effortlessly and leave a fantastic finish.

Hi from the UK, I never knew Swiss chard roots were red, I also never knew you could cut the root system either, I only just started with a small Kratky set up, I'm a complete novice when it comes to hydroponics. So if that pepper was already in clay pebbles would you have just put it straight into that container? Thanks for sharing this so I can learn more about this type of growing. All the best Steve

Hey Steve, interestingly enough the roots are the color of the plant. So if you have a purple one roots are purple. There are pinks, reds, purples, orange, green just to name a few! All the roots are very beautiful looking for sure. And only in hydroponics do you get to enjoy it. You could have started the pepper plant in the container right away and avoid planning it in later. Either way works fine. Plants dont mind being moved here and there. Keep growing!

That's a nice set-up! I want a flood and drain system but don't have a drill or hole saw. Will have to get that. How deep is the container you put your plants in and were you able to keep pepper plants in there the whole time or did you have to move them to a deeper one as they got bigger?

I am doing kratky setup for basil. But this system seem better although more complex I feel like it is the most fun and aesthetic. Take some 2x8s and a concrete tub and you got yourself a little fake garden assuming you can hide the pump etc. Watched a few of your videos already. What do you think of this setup compared to Kratky method so far. You see differences?

Sort of a mix between kratky and dwc system. Nice added boost of air flow to the roots. Also super easy to swap out plants

I'm sure they work just as well but I've never seen that before, and I'm a bit anal to be honest, it would drive me nuts. I didn't mean anything else by it. (Shrug). I do like your vids though. Maybe that's why it was such a good value for the purchase. Seller only had the one big bag. Others well selling for double. Thanks for watching my videos. I appreciate the love and support ❤️❤️ Now that I think about it. This is why took so long to clean and wash the pebbles.

@Sacred Wolf Peach Hydroton is actually a brand, there are numerous companies that make clay pebbles. What he has looks normal. Clay pebbles normally come in various shapes and sizes. Hydroton manufactures them into round balls and is the only company i have found that does that. Same product different shape is all.
