@@inthekitchenwithmatt - Proving that I have absolutely zero willpower, I couldn't wait until the weekend. So, after work tonight I headed to the store to grab some puff pastry. After I got them assembled, I remembered that I had a can of cherry pie filling in the pantry. So, I created a little well in the middle of the cream chease filling and placed a dollop of the pie filling in each one. They turned out really good! I had no idea cheese danish could be so easy to make. Thanks again, Matt. By the way, Jay Norris got three smiley faces from you and I only got two....not that I'm keeping track or anything. LOL! :)

Thanks! These need to be baked in the oven. Do you have an oven on your hot dog push cart? If not, you won't be able to make these. Unless you made them ahead of time at home. The best way would be to wrap them individually in plastic wrap or zip lock bags.

Hi Robert, wax paper is different than parchment paper and should not go in the oven. If the cheese burned you baked it a bit too long.

Any cream cheese brand will work. I use my store brand "Kroger" all the time, I also use the more expensive very popular "Philadelphia" brand. If you are in a different country I am not sure what brands are available there. :)

@@inthekitchenwithmatt THEY'RE AMAZING! A thicker, flaky dough though. More like a sweet bread than puffed pastry. I did everything you did, except I used a tube of Hawaiian rolls. I had to peel them in half because they were too thick but they turned out REALLY good... Unfortunately, I forgot the citrus juice in my filling but you can't tell... I also dusted the tops with the egg wash instead of using it for glue to roll the corners in. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO!

Let me ask you something? Are French Fries actually French? Nope. :) Sometimes things are called by a name, even if they are not from that origin. Because everywhere in the States these are called Danishes. Don't get hung up on the name, it doesn't change how it tastes, which is amazing! Also did you watch the whole video? I talked about more options that you can use for the filling. From the popular New York Times cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1017898-cheese-danish the difference here is that I used puff pastry instead of a traditional danish pastry dough which is made with yeast but is also a type of laminated dough. Kent, they are danishes. There is more than one kind of danish. This is what we call them in America. And I am American, so yeah. Did I say they were an Authentic Austrian or Denmark or Scandinavian Danishes? No I did not.

This video isn't about the puff pastry. I have a whole different video on how to make puff pastry from scratch, I thought I had added it, but it looks like I forgot, sorry about that. The video would be way too long to do both in one video. The title is "Easy Cheese Danish" I have already done Croissants from scratch on here, which shows laminating dough. I will do a puff pastry from scratch at some point. Not everyone wants to make the puff pastry from scratch. Chill Scott! haha
