It’s been brought to my attention that the queen is always placed on her own color. In this video I made the mistake of doing it backwards. Thank you to the various people who helped me realize this. Man idea is not bad, but there are a couple of things that should be done differently. First,the cells on the Board it was necessary to flip the other side up, because of the shrinkage of the resin it does not look aesthetically pleasing, second, the distance between cells should be no more than 2-3mm, the third color cells hurts the eyes, and the fourth lacks both alpha and numeric designations.

I do a fair amount of epoxy work and your board looks amazing. I'm making a cribbage coffee table for Christmas and on the flip side of the table top will be a chess and backgammon board. I was going to buy cheap boards and just router and epoxy them into the table top. Now I might try making the inlays for the boards.

I think the squares are by the inch and a quarter, and I got the molds from IKEA there in the kitchen section in a used primarily for ice cube trays

Fantastic build Chris, only you can make something that good out of Epoxy Resin, yes there was some wood involved but it was mostly the Resin. It was a great idea using the Ice Cube moulds to make the pieces, hope your wife doesn't mind. As for the voice over, i wondered when you were going to talk as usual, then at the end you mentioned why you didn't, either the talk which we are all used to, or just the music and no talk, either way doesn't bother me, as the outcome will be the same. I am on the last steps . . . can you tell me steps and what I need to do finish sanding and polishing? I am concerned that I will not be able to sand to perfectly clear. Could you please tell me the type of sandpaper you used and the liquid you poured to make it look so clear after sanding?

@@dmgross1998 Regarding the sandpaper I just sent everything to about 220. Start at 1:20 go to 180. End at 220 and then the topcoat of resin. And that’s it I don’t sand after it’s cured

Spray or paint the sides with mold release and they'll come off much easier...
