Thank you for the succinct tutorial. I feel comfortable making patterns in Illustrator but I know next to nothing about Photoshop so I just have to push myself to do it.

You're welcome! I think Illustrator is easier to use for patterns, or at least I like it more, but Photoshop is also great. You just need to keep making patterns.

BFlat I couldn’t find it either but I just did; These shapes are HIDDEN by default, depending on your settings. You can find them by: WINDOW > SHAPES (ticked), > A Box of shapes properties should pop up on the right side next to the color wheel > Click the FOUR HORIZONTAL LINES ON THE TOP RIGHT SIDE OF THIS DIALOG BOX > scroll down to LEGACY SHAPES AND MORE > Scroll all the way down to ALL LEGACY DEFAULT SHAPES > Arrows

how to scale pattern when apply from fill. I know scaling from blending mode but we cant change color when apply from blending.

I don't think you can scale it if you use the fill tool. But you can go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Pattern to add the pattern and then add a solid color layer above it.

did i miss a step, how do you get the 100X100 chevron to show up in patterns? did you save as a PAT file and load?
