You should blend the whole lemon, including the peel. Great nutrition in the lemon peel.

@RawBlendAustralia10 жыл бұрын
Hi TRUEFUNKSOULDIER We haven't tried this recipe when they're frozen. You could definitely give it a go and add more water if needed :) It's all about trial and error :) Thanks for watching and happy blending!

Looks great but I'd HAVE to get that pith off, i know there's good things there but I'd be wasting a smoothie, that taste is especially foul to me. Out of curiosity, is there something I can use if, say, I have the other components but want that orange in there? Concentrate or (don't throw stuff at me) canned mandarins? I know fresh is better but sometimes things happen.
@RawBlendAustralia8 жыл бұрын
+Tracy Herwig No problems at all in regards to the Pith! Everyone is different and at the end of the day you are drinking the smoothie so it's best to enjoy it! As you mentioned, fresh is always better and I steer clear of anything canned and that is a concentrate however, as you said, things do happen! You could use canned fruits if needed however, try not to include the syrup that they come soaking in as that stuff is pure sugar! Always try and get fresh ingredients when you can. Happy Blending!

Isn’t it bad for the motor to start on 10?
@RawBlendAustralia Жыл бұрын
Not really. For certain recipes I always start on high speed. Please note Vitamix recommend starting on a slower speed because then the ingredients don't jump into the lid, so it's safer in case you forget to put your lid. Thanks for watching :)

can you use one massive lemon

Hi Amber, you may adjust the recipe to suit your tastes. Thanks for watching and happy blending!

Fact correction: lemons are considered very acidic with a pH value of 2-3 due to high citric acid content - not alkaline at all.
@RawBlendAustralia2 жыл бұрын
Yes in it's natural state it's acidic but once metabolised it becomes alkaline forming. Thanks for watching :)

Shouldn't have more than one lemon a day
@deanneadams98524 жыл бұрын
Why would you remove the lemon peels? I put the entire lemon in my smoothies, every single day. Your throwing out a powerhouse of nutrition!
@RawBlendAustralia4 жыл бұрын
Hi Deanne, we keep as much of the pith on as possible. Some people don't like the skin as they can't get organic and remove waxes properly or they simply don't like the overpowering taste. If you like the taste with the skins on then by all means you can keep doing that :) It's all personal preference! Happy Blending!
@deanneadams98524 жыл бұрын
Yep I only use the peels when organic.....it can be a bit overwhelming the taste but I don't drink it for the enjoyment of it, I like the anti -aging benefits, serious nutrition in those peels! Thanks!
@liamdonnelly224810 жыл бұрын
Can you make it into a ice cream
@RawBlendAustralia10 жыл бұрын
Hi Liam Donnelly You could definitely experiment with this :) The rule of ice cream in the Vitamix is 1 part liquid to 3 parts frozen. Thanks for watching and happy blending!
@sprinlketinkle8 жыл бұрын
i can do this using my bog standard blender..... lol 😆
@MooPup097 жыл бұрын
use a vege peeler for removal of citrus rind .. you're wasting a lot of pith still with that knife and 80% of VC is in the pith ...
@RawBlendAustralia7 жыл бұрын
You know what... we actually couldn't find it that day! hahaha. Don't worry. We put it in the compost and always make sure that we keep the majority of the pith on our citrus :) Happy Blending!

Might as well give my kids a snickers bar. BS sugar drink.
@RawBlendAustralia2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! That's incorrect advice. I would never give my son a chemical and processed sugar-filled snickers bar over this nutrient-dense, fibre-filled whole food smoothie. There is a big difference between refined and natural sugars, and this is just like eating the whole food, it's not an extracted juice. Happy Blending!
@davidheymann77412 жыл бұрын
You should look into the health benefits of whole lemons and oranges before saying it's the same as a snickers bar...
