I'm 57 yrs old and I loved, loved, loved being in the kitchen with my grandmother. She passed in 2014 at the wonderful age of 95 yrs old. She use to make a pineapple coconut cake that my family would have a family feud over😂😂. Thank you for making me smile this morning as I watched you make the coconut cake. Reminding me of my grandma. Mae Mae I totally understand how it is to forget to say things when you're cooking or say things that don't make sense I'm an older woman and it happens to all of us. To the young ladies your day will come because we all go through that as we get older. I enjoy watching you make different recipes you've helped me to come up with some new ideas you've helped me to learn a lot and you don't take too long it takes time and patience if you want your dish to come out the way it should. So you're doing just fine. My grandmother always said if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all. I absolutely adore you I love the way you put food together and make wonderful dishes you do so awesome and I greatly appreciate it. Keep up the good work and I'll be watching all your videos to learn how to make those wonderful recipes. Take care of you and may God bless you and yours 💓

Never listen to anyone saying the videos are too long . If I already knew how to make this lovely food I wouldn't need to watch a video ... as it is, I need to learn to I appreciate seeing each step. People just don't have patience now - they rush on through and learn nothing - leave them to their microwaves. I'm going to give this one a try as I love coconut and I REALLY love cake :)

Wow, that looks beautiful. Love the "old fashioned look" of the little red cherries on top. I haven't thought of this in years, but Easter was about the only time I remember Momma making a coconut.cake, It had to have a cherry on top. I have you a cake cutter/ server in the mail from Amazon. So you will have it the next time My sister, who is now 79 used to tease me and tell me that the coconuts in the grocery store were shrunken heads, she also told that mincemeat pies , served only at Christmas, were made out of a little animal called Minces. She was seven years older than me and I believed everything she told me. Blessings, Jo Ann in Mississippi

Jo Ann Somers Lol. 😂😂😂this comment is hilarious. Thank you for my laugh of the day. Everything you said in this comment I can relate to. I told my daughter that coconut cake back in the day was made from fresh coconut. My mom would crack them open with a hammer, drain the milk and grate the coconut. I haven’t seen a fresh coconut in a store in years. Your sister tricking you with her stories really brought back memories. My second oldest brother was always tricking and teasing me because I was such a tattle tale. When we lived in the country my mother killed and prepared chickens in the back yard. I didn’t like seeing that so I would tell my brother that I didn’t eat the chickens that came out of the yard and would only eat the chicken that came out of the refrigerator (not knowing it was the same chickens). At dinner time when we were eating it my brother would always make fun of it and tell my parents “Clara Mae said she doesn’t eat the chickens that come out of the backyard” and they would laugh about it and I never realized why. I sent you an email thanking you for the cake server. It's beautiful and I can't wait to use it. You are such a sweet lady and I thank God for placing you in my path. God bless 😊

Made this cake for my sister last night using your very detailed recipe/instructions. I was a wee bit concerned because the batter was so thick after mixing. Well, let me tell you....WOW! WHAT A CAKE!! SIMPLY DELICIOUSLY MOIST! I did add pineapple to mine and cheated with the frosting by using store bought 🙈. But the cake itself is delish! Next time, perhaps for Christmas, I'm going to use unsalted butter. But thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your love for cooking and recipes. My mom and auntie were THE best cooks and cooked with loads of love just like you!! They're no longer with us and I've had to pick up that mantle and your videos have helped!Thank you Ms. Mae!

You remind me so much of my Beautiful grandmother the way you cook and how you do things. I will be 74 in September and I Love watching you because I use to sit and watch her just about every meal. Sitting on top of the table while she worked around me. I picked up so many skills for cooking from her. Thank you do much for bringing back those memories to me. She has been gone for many years but I can feel her here when I watch you. Again thank you so much. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 My mother n law use to make a coconut cake every Christmas. 4 layers. She would make it and put it in her pressure canner with red delicious apples all around it. She would seal the canner off and put it on her covered back porch where it was cold and no heat. She would leave it there forc2 weeks or until Christmas and when she opened that canner up, OH MY GOODNESS the smell of apples. It also kept the moistness and had a slight apple flavor as well along with the coconut. Wow so delicious 😋

Mrs. Mae Mae while looking for a coconut cake recipe on here yours came up to watch. I love your easy going happenings. The recipe will be tried because for sure it's like what my mother did. I 've thought to mention that I'm a old cook but always try other peoples hints yours are really informative. I have a trick I made up this year while making yeast bread in my stand mixer. This is using a gallon zip lock bag with the dry ingredients add to it. Turn the mixer on low setting hold the unzipped bag at the edge of the bowl with the corner of the bag slightly open so flour flows out when tapped. Then tap the bag to release the flour per one's desire into the bowl while the mixer runs slowly. Stopping to scrape down the sides as often as one wishes. You will find that this adding tip is a blessing .I'm looking forward to more of your videos.
