Love your cover and instruction. I am getting ready to do some one of the too, but wasn't sure of some things because I hate wrinkles and bubbles too. BUT, when you held your breath, I held mine too...and then the APPLAUSE came on, oh lordy, that made my day, unexpectedly LOL! And the sanding is a fabulous idea. Thank you. 😍
@craftyhodges6 жыл бұрын
Hi Carmen! Thanks for the fun comment! Your comment made me smile. The key on the bubbles, is to make sure you burnish it well when you first put your cover down and then it dry underneath books...it's amazing how they go away. Sanding with a light touch and you'll have an awesome cover! Let me know if you have any other questions. TFW! xoxo Joanne

Eagerly waiting but don't rush, I will still be here waiting for when you are ready, God willing. Much love and thank you Joanne, your friend in England. xxxx

Hi Annette! You are SO right - always something new to learn. Yes, the shoe polish works great...the only thing I've found is you might have to buff a little longer to remove it, but other than that, it gives you the same smoothness. Have fun nd thank you so much for watching. xoxo Joanne

That. Was so much fun! I love your old worn out sandpaper, too. Back last century, we used to use brown paper bag for a final sanding on tole pained wood. It knocked the fine stuff down - but would be even less than your lovely worn sandpaper! LOL! Yesterday I actually went searching for our old shoe polish cans and found nothing but the cloths we used for applying and buffing our shoes. Soft cloth like flannel works well for both applying and buffing. We just kept the cloths in the little polishing kit we all used to own. You don't waste polish that way - you just use the same spot on the cloth, over and over again. I'm sure that shoe polish is much cheaper and does not take up the room a can of floor wax does.
@craftyhodges6 жыл бұрын
Hi Kathleen! I remember using brown paper bags to sand...I had forgotten about that. I've probably had this same piece of sandpaper for 10 years! I generally use a piece of old flannel sheet to apply and buff, but I try to use things most people will have and I wasn't sure about the flannel. Old t-shirt works pretty well too. TFW and leaving your fun comment. xoxo Joanne

Joanne, you know how much I love watching your videos with morning coffee. I was up before anyone this morning. I have already fixed Doc's morning dog food, readied the coffee pot and brought in the newspaper. It is still dark out. I am smelling coffee brewing and I am watching you being nervous about your spine cover....not to worry, you do awesome. Kudos and love the audience clapping!!! Grabbing a cup of joe and finishing this delightful video. You are so fun to watch. I can't wait to get in my craft room and apply your techniques and also CRAFTY COINS. Di

Hi Di! Your morning description completely matches what I did this morning too. I'm always the first one up and I really enjoy the morning quiet. Some great ideas pop into my head at that time. Oh the spine - YIKES, I am always holding my breath during that part. LOL, not sure why, it's only paper and there's always a way to fix it. I think you're going to like the crafty coins. They are super fun and quick to make. Have a wonderful day and thank you for watching Di! xoxo Joanne
