I just purchased the Sept/Oct 2018 issue of Somerset Studio magazine a few days ago--and fell in love with the fantastical artist trading coins pictured inside. I hadn't read the article yet, so didn't know the artist's name who'd made them. Imagine my surprise and pleasure when a KZbin search for "whimsical collage" turned up your video on the cute little coins. Needless to say, I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching more of your imaginative and intriguing videos. Although I do not use collage sheets, but harvest my own images elsewhere, you have many wonderful tips and techniques for experienced collage artists as well.

Hey sweet friend! First off - NO mention of the journal sneak peek??! I thought for sure you would give me a hard time for blocking most of the screen with writing - LOL! While it's true the circle punch makes it easier, you can just use a glass and cut it out. Really, you have everything you need right in your little abode. If you are afraid you can't cut out the circle exactly, then make it a little wonky, that would be super cute too! Love you friend. xoxo Joanne

Wow Joanne, you are going to start a whole new collecting craze. These ATCoins are fabulous. I don't have a punch that size but I do have lots of things that are round and I am sure I can find something the same size. I also have a compass somewhere. I have recently had my bedroom sorted out and I haven't a clue where anything is. It's always the way when someone else does it for you. I am very grateful they did do it but I will have to find my way around my stash and 'rediscover' my stuff, lol. I love these ATCoins. What a fabulous imagination you have to come up with them. I can see them becoming a must have collecting theme. Love & hugs xxxxxxxx

Hi Dorothy! Oh I know what you mean when your room gets switched around - let alone when someone else does it. I had my room switched around about 10 months ago and there are still some things I'm looking for! LOL. So if you don't have a punch that size, use the glass and just cut it out slowly and it will work just fine. I hope you have fun making them....I'm sure they are going to be great. xxoxxo and big hugs! Joanne

Hi Joanne, thank you so much for your inspiring videos. Could I ask you if I just want to purchase and use the collage sheets from Mischief Circus do I download them to my pictures file or documents? I use Windows.
@craftyhodges6 жыл бұрын
Helen Lornablue Hi Helen....I would download them to pictures and maybe create a folder for them so you can find them easily. You only need to download the .jpg files and the ones that say paper in the title (if you want the background papers). You do not need the .png files, these are for digital collage and I suspect you don’t do that. Hope that helps. Joanne

Hi Becky! Aren't these fun?! The one that says "dare yourself" was sent to a good friend who is not arty and she loved it too. So these can be shared with anyone. I think they would be fun to leave anonymously too. Thanks for watching and commenting. xoxo Joanne

Thank you, thank you. I want to make plenty. I usually make Christmas ornaments to give out to family and friends on Thanksgiving. I’ve been doing it forever and the all expect it. Your coins would be perfect. I will probably use a bigger circle, but this will be it. Thank you for the tutorial! My very favorite one is the Berber Daisy because it’s my favorite flower. My second favorite is the image from Pinterest with the bigger eye. However, they are all great. I have to go try them out now. 💕

Awesome idea!! This is so cool! And it fits perfectly in my 100 days of embellishments challenge. I think it’s also a great idea to trade them. I’ll let you know if I succeed at this. Maybe we could arrange a little swap. Also I’m still working on that journal made out of 2 envelopes and a card. I’m going wild there, adding tip ins and pockets. It’s such a lovely project to work on and I am having a lot of fun imagining the surprise to my overseas friend. I think you’re so smart using a nail sanding thing! Never thought of that. I still have one of the earliest scrapbooking sanding tools, but it’s become very smooth over time. The polished finished looks so neat! Going to watch that video now. Thanks for sharing all your amazing ideas!!!

Hey there! So happy this will work well for your 100 day embellishment challenge - I think they would be perfect! Swapping would be fun too.....it's so great to hear you're having fun making the friendship journal. They can be kind of addictive too! So many fun things to do and just never enough time - right! Have fun..and thank you for leaving your sweet comment. xoxo Joanne

Joanne, I have been waiting all month for this video. OK, it has only been a week since the sneak peak, but it felt longer. lol I love them all, but my favorite is the clown. You are so creative and so generous in sharing your ideas. I can't thank you enough! Hugs Anna Maria

Hi Anna Maria! Oh your comment cracked me up - waiting a month! SO happy you enjoyed the video...I hope you give it a try...you'll have lots of fun and they are so easy. I wasn't sure I would like the clown, but I think he turned out great too. That's the fun of the coins, they can look totally different once you cut out the circle. TFW and commenting my friend. Hope you're doing well. xoxo Joanne

Thank you Joanne for a fascinating video, I love your artist trading coins!!! Can I ask what shoe polish you used??
@craftyhodges6 жыл бұрын
Sheila Cross Hi Sheila! I use Kiwi shoe polish in neutral/clear. It’s in a tin and I bought it at the grocery store. Apply a light coat, let it try for about 5 minutes and buff, buff, buff! Prior to waxing, be sure you have a coat of ModPodge, DecoPage, or matte medium applied to the coin. Hope that helps. More questions? Please just ask. TFW. Joanne
