Nik, you're a veritable genius! From the unnecessary (but totally necessary) mitered corners, using wrapping paper to decorate the sides of the box, to the ribbon lift, I was/am in awe of all the little tricks I learned in this video. Thanks for an awesome project idea!

Have you ever made one of those boxes that actually look like a book? Would like it very much if you did a tutorial on that. Have been watching a lot of different ones but I would like to defer to you as you are as precise as I am. Thank you so much for all of your videos they are fantastic! Keep on going!

Nik… one video a week is not cutting it for me anymore. Seriously, you need to do a weekly live video or something. Just turn on the camera while you work, doesn’t even need to be edited. Just a live Nik rambler. We needs it, man. We needs the “welcome back welcome back” more often.

Fantastic. Thank you for the clear directions. 🥰 Knowing how to customize the box size will be really helpful when I make boxes for my gift books and journals. 📚It just makes them look so much more special. 🤔I think I'll add a bit of a flap-closure to the inside box top (with a magnet on it and on the box side) so that it can close easily. People I know don't like the 'fussiness' of tying ribbons. I have some that are magnetic snaps and would work really well with this.

What a beautiful gift idea for an antique book, or even a new book! I see how you centered the detailed area for the tops of the boxes-it looks really nice. This would be a gorgeous way to protect one of those antique family Bibles, too. I’m just curious-do you have every thickness of that brand adhesive tape? 😂

Very cool. Going to Israel next year. I saved the “clamshell” box for my new Chronological Study Bible. ( just released in the comfort print, NKJV BY Thomas Nelson, also comes in NIV) Its designed to have a very “ancient” look to it. Black leather soft, with raised spine hubs. I’ve been wondering how to make the box look old and grungy, good grungy, lol. Yours turned out very beautiful and elegant. I will definitely use the “ Pull up the ribbon idea to get your book out easily “ idea. Thanks Pam! Always SO creative! 👍🙏🏻📜. - Messy Mendy 👩🏻‍🎨

This is gorgeous as just a BOX. Though I might make it out of a little bit sturdier cardboard especially if I want to make a big one. It would be cool if it had a flap that you could attach a magnet to to keep it closed rather than the ribbon.

Beautiful work, as always! Love this book box so much. This comes at the perfect time, I saw a video for a corner tool by We R Memory Keepers and they showed a box like the one you made, but not how to make it using their tool! I really wanted to know how to make this kind of box - and now I do. Your method seems way more straightforward than I imagine it would be using that corner tool. Thank you so much for sharing!
