The machines I service at work have a part that uses two springs, and the springs have stretched out on some of these units. The supplier charges several hundreds of dollars for the part, doesn't supply either one of these springs separately, and my boss hasn't found the necessary springs anywhere, so we've been stuck with buying expensive parts that we should be able to refurbish ourselves. Thus, my search on how to make our own springs. For that, I find this video and part 2 to be helpful, so thank you for making these videos. That said, I see you have uploaded several videos, and would like to make some suggestions on video production. You might want to invest in a video editor, or at least use one that is freely available. Windows still has a free video editor, which you can use to splice two videos together, although I don't know its other capabilities because I use Vegas. With Vegas, and perhaps with some free video editors, you could record in a higher resolution, then use a video editor to crop in to whatever you are trying to show, to make sure nothing you do is off-camera. As for making the spring itself... Instead of using fancy tools, couldn't you use pliers at 2 minutes into your video, to press the wire against the flat part of your mandrel? Again, thank you for making this 2-part video, which I found to be helpful. I hope you find my suggestions to be helpful as well, and if you have any questions concerning video production, feel free to send me a message.

I thank you for some excellent advice.. As a film maker (not) , production quality is obviously lacking , but the general concept of how to do it surely gets across. This is the best i can offer..

@@thespringguy1 you're welcome. I appreciate what you offer, regardless of production quality, and have found your information to be very useful. Again, thank you.

Please remember after bending spring wire , the material stresses need to be relieved through heat treatment before using in your application.
