PAL (phase alternating line) refers to European/Australian TV standards (NTSC =National Television Standards Committee = US/Japanese standards) - and in this context really only has to do with what frame rate the recorded material was shot at, these standards have not much to do with cinema though.. 24 FPS is in line with standard cinema camera recording . 🙂
