@RCrider1856 жыл бұрын
It all depends on what you use your PC for, if you just game/steam then it makes only a 1-2% difference but if you render then dual channel will help your CPU multitask quicker. MSI only uses a single channel setup in all there laptops do to the little effect it has on the system, Gamer Nexus also tested this theory to be true. I myself have tried this out once before do to the tall heat sinks on my RAM kit not fitting under my Noctua NF-A15X2 cooler and had to install my kit in a single channel Dimm setup and found a 25-50 point drop in my BM scores, which wasn't noticeable at all while gaming. Don't get me wrong I have my kits installed in dual channel Dimm slots now with my current build but if your stuck in a hard place with a build a single channel Dimm setup won't have much effect on performance.
@geniusaur6 жыл бұрын
Tim Beals yeah... But.. But why give up free performance.. You just gave a big spiel about something that can be remedied in about 30 seconds and with this setup it's hardly difficult...
@RCrider1856 жыл бұрын
?? I just let you know that if your in a pinch it makes like difference to performance, I used to think it was the end all in Ram setups and that there was such a thing as dual channel Ram kits until someone shared with me there experiences. I'm just trying to share to better the community.

@cekpi74 жыл бұрын
That mostly depends on how do you set it up. I made case for my HTPC that would match my subwoofer and it was actually pretty quiet. It was mostly due to fact that slow spinning fans are not resonating at resonant frequency of the box so the sound wasn't amplified. HDD on the other hand was louder than it was outside of the box.

A good idea, but I think a few things should have been changed a bit; -the mobo ports would have greater access if it was simply spun 180, but kept at the same position -the air supply fans wouldn't be blocked if they had been put at the rear. Maybe make a dust filter by sandwiching the mesh between two frames of wood trim? -take advantage of the PCIe cable being somewhat flexible, and push the GPU as far back as possible, so the video cable can snake around to the rear with minimal bend stress. I am a fan of the GPU and PSU being angled how they are! Fantastic for airflow, and you're definitely clearing out the exhaust air with so many fans!
@CenPapi6 жыл бұрын
The nut inerts are installed backwards, they are designed to pull tighter into the wood as you tighten your fastener. I'm sure they work just fine as they are holding anything of weight, nevertheless if you have had problems of them spinning in place, the previous statement is the reason. Great video, keep it up!

@JJtoob9 ай бұрын
I wanna do something like this at one point. Maybe take it a few steps further and attach it to standing desk legs, maybe replacing part of the top with a clear top, wonder if there would be room to add sound treatment inside to make it quieter 🤔 if it was water cooled it would be even more low profile, I'm surprised I can't find similar extension ribbons for RAM like you can for PCIe connectors like the one you used for the GPU, but if they exist, you could make the entire thing as thin as whatever height the CPU cooling block is, since you could also lay the fans down. Ok I'm off to search for the flattest PC build lol.
@themrn3xt6 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, you better use a small 120mm liquid cooling system. You can put the fan and plate horizontal beside the GPU. Then, make holes below them for the air ventilation. So you can still safely overclock the CPU, and maybe a quiter system.

For the 4 fans in the front you could of made something with foam and to have it at least 2mm above from the wood which would cancel out the noise from the fans also another thing you could of done was instead from the bottom of the drawer for vents you could of cut out at least 3 big holes in the front area of course using mesh for a dust filter and you could of added a little bit of LED lights to make it look cool. One other option you could of used as well that could of been useful and cool at the same time is make an oval cutout from the top of the desk on the left and right side as outtakes for the heat and still as an option add in LED's and it is also nice for people that wants to stream and have a good enough lighting since it would provide enough lights. One other thing about a desk like this one as most people might not know about is you could turn it into a custom arcade machine of course using older PC parts like using an i5 650 with a GTX 660 Ti which the PC could be used for esports titles as well so really there is 2 things the desk can be used for and when i mention a custom arcade i mean the arcade sticks would be mounted on the top of the desk which you could make a custom board to go over the buttons so you could use a keyboard and mouse.

Foam padding under fans would have helped if vibrations were a problem. But those fans are stuck pretty good so vibrations are not an issue. It's the sound of the air moved by the fans that some mind find a bit loud. I like to keep things clean and making air vents on the front would ruin the look I was going for.
@EcksGamer6 жыл бұрын
I wasn't really referring about under the fans what i meant was using brackets on the sides with form on the sides and also for ventilation for the front you could always use something like this i.gyazo.com/c15b498bfccebe7fc3219c05130d4582.jpg which could make it look clean and not ruin the look.
