Coming from someone who owns 2x TT P5 really nice job on the build I did like the idea of what you did with the power supply. As for those who wonder if the case gets to dusty being a open cooled chasis, it is not as bad or not as what you would think. I mainly have both my P5 hanging on the wall and if I would have set both my P5's on the ground yes they would get dusty and more cleaning would be more expected of. I mainly clean my cases out 2 - 3x a year both runnin off a AIO. As for the video I am always impress with watching woodworking Vlogs on others who take there builds to the next step level, to also help give me ideas of what I can do next on my P5's or doing a build from scratch myself.

This video is exactly what I have been thinking about for 3 months, in fact thinking about the Core P3. I have a carpenter friend with whom I could do it. I have been reviewing the measurements mentally. But I am concerned that between the acrylic, support and front panel I end up spending what would come out a new Core P3, for the rest, I would love to have a wooden cabinet. What an excellent job you did, I take off my hat.

Its crazy how far PC aesthetics have come. Theres still a lot of "gamer" stuff, but a lot more minimalism, brushed or anodized aluminium, glass etc. The 011Dynamic or the SFF cases like the Dan or Ncase come to mind. There are great balances between RGB gamer, minimal monochrome, and performance too like the H500P Mesh from Cooler Master, or the Phanteks P400A. A lot better than many of the sideways-stereo tuner styles of the 2000s and of the weird acryllic gamer style of the early 2010s.

Beautiful case! I'd take that over a mass produced model any day of the week. On a side note- I'd suggest you lower the blade of your table saw so that the teeth of the blade are no more than 1/2 inch above the board you're cutting. This reduces friction between the board and sides of the blade, reduces chance of kickback and leaves less blade exposed in the event that something were to go wrong in the worst imaginable way. On your Miter Saw you never want your hand within 1 foot of the blade. Wood can break or pinch against the side of the blade causing it to move violently, potentially taking your hand with it. If the work piece is too small to keep your hand well clear of the blade then use a clamp or make a wooden stick you can use to give your hand some distance while holding things in place. Understanding all the ways those tools can end up removing body parts is not something that you can rely upon your intuition for. Please research safe use of the tools you own. It's time well spent.

Thermaltake Core P3 is one of my favorite case designs ever. Except in my country dust falls down not sideways. It's like you read my mind, this is exactly what I was thinking of since no case manufacturer makes anything practical for air cooling like this. I want to point out that it is very much recommend that the motherboard standoffs have an electrical connection to the outer shell of the PSU so you should put some wire connecting the standoff to the outer metal shell of the PSU. Usually in a metal case the standoffs are electrically connected to the PSU through the metal of the case and the PSU housing is connected to the ground port of the outlet. I'm not sure what the exact reason for this is since the atx power connector also gives the motherboard multiple ground connections, but I think it might have something to do with removing static charges that build up as the motherboard runs
@TheBuddingEngineer4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I actually did think about this while planning the case, by using foil tape that are used in laptops to connect those standoffs to ground. But after some more reading, I decided to pass this up and I've never had a problem so far. Redundancy (in anything that uses electricity) is always good, so when I eventually use more expensive parts, I'll ground the standoffs

The fact you very rarely went free hand with your router etc. makes this better looking than some Homemade cases. Nicely working features from more than one case you ended up with a nice case that can easily blend in with furniture. Going slower than rushing it you ended up with something beautiful. Certainly a learning curve and with everything new, i mean planning this and design to construction, you may find some things you would do slightly differently next time but couldn't this time round as you didn't know before hand, I wasn't there and you (royal/general you) wouldn't show someof those things off for this kind of video if you (royal/general you) did go wrong a times. There is trial and error, but that said, that is how you (royal/general you) end up with something as good as this.

If you have a pci extension cable you can place the GFX card on its side as well which would reduce the height needed. I am planning to do something similar this weekend however plan to use cardboard which i would either glue or screw into a travel case. It is my plan to make a gaming pc that is plug-and-play. I tend to travel alot and like having a gaming pc and most laptops are not really good for gaming. If no one has said anything about getting the pcie brackets (idk what else to call them) you could go to a local machine shop and ask them to make some. I’m studying machine tool technology and I’ve learned that most things like that are generally pretty cheap to make. You could ask them for a quote and it’ll probably cost less than $20 USD, so around £15 probably. But as with all things, prices may vary, so get a quote before committing to a purchase.
