Would love to see a finished quilt top with this block

To be honest, I would too! I have so many unfinished projects. I will have to do a video sometime with the finished quilts. Thank you so much for watching.

I found my mother's left over fence rail blocks, from a baby quilt she made 1.5 strips, finished at 1 inch. I cut into quarter square triangles and sewed back together, more like a sqinasq block. Used it over a door window, love the way the sun shines through. Someday, I will complete as a small doll or animal quilt, I think. Love your stuff.

Just found your videos - love the Disappearing blocks! I’m a pinner in quilting (left,over from a Mom who was a fabulous seamstress and 3 years of Home Ec in elementary school) and was wondering why you didn’t pin your seams as mentioned in a previous episode. I have a terrified look every time I see quilters in videos not pinning seams😄😄👍

Thank you for this video. Also, thank you for explaining how it feels when the seams are nested together. Everyone always says you can feel it but never says how it's supposed to feel. Bumpy verses flat!.

Nice to see someone 'pressing' rather than ironing. 😊

I learned the hard way -- I ironed and seams went "wonky". Sometimes the best teacher is making those mistakes.

Love the video. Just want to add......when you make the first angle cut don’t move it. Leave in same spot an move mat if you have to
@CrazyDavesCrew6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the suggestion. Can't believe I hadn't thought of moving the mat! But you're right -- just rotate the mat around. Awesome. May have to try it in a video and give you credit for the suggestion! Thank you!
@chadshanks69845 жыл бұрын
There are spinning mats available that allow you to spin your work to make necessary cuts without disturbing your previous cuts

I find when i have a lot of seams i press my seams open and then there are no lumps and bumps for quilting,,,,
@CrazyDavesCrew5 жыл бұрын
That is a great idea. Thanks for your comments.
@valsedonia5 жыл бұрын
If you sewed the two blocks right sides together (after putting one going horizontally and one going vertically) with a 1/4” seam all the way around and THEN cut them criss crossed you will have them already sewn together! Even easier is to sew the strips when they are 42” strips (jelly roll length) and then cut them into blocks.
@CrazyDavesCrew5 жыл бұрын
Great idea
@paulinedutton85762 жыл бұрын
Maybe a useful feature would be the exact measurements of the cut strips in the information below the video please.
