Thankfully, the foot part under the fabric are close enough that that doesn't happen! However, accidents can happen, so if you ever need to pull something out that takes more effort, or are cleaning out things, turn off the machine. You won't have to worry. Take that advice from someone who one sewed through their thumb.... Thankfully, just the fleshy bits

If it helps, on the raaaare chance you actually do sew over or through the skin of a finger, and you can hold still for a second and just kinda clear your head of the shock, it doesn't actually hurt much, it's just really surprising. I did it in high school while making a cosplay, sewed right through the skin on my thumb. The needle broke (like it's meant to) very cleanly, and no thread made it into the "wound". It was a tiny puncture with a part of a needle through it, and the needle was no longer attached to the machine at all. I just slooooowly pulled my hand away from the machine, observed that my hand looked fine, and gently pulled the needle piece out he way it entered, then slapped a bandaid on it and checked on the machine. It needed some low level calibration fixes but it was easy peasy and I was on my way again. Lucky, because it was my mom's and she would have MURDERED ME if I broke her sewing machine she used EVERY DAY and grew up making her siblings clothes on... xD

If it's anything, my fursuit - fullsuit - is 100% hand sewn. If you use upholstery thread and blanket stitching it holds up fine. Murder for your hands though

Ima Ghost id personally avoid upholstery thread, if somethings going to tear in that case it'll be more likely to be the fur than the thread which is a harder fix. I just use regular polyester thread

If you're not comfortable with your sewing machine, try practicing first with pieces of fur, minky, or just fabrics In general. Eventually you'll get comfortable with it

Hello! For people who don't have time to make a duct tape thing and do all that since its a long process, here's some I read I had and I think they're original! 1. Use some clothes that you don't like, sew fur on them, and you can wear the suit as normal clothes basically. 2. Use a cheap plain onesie and sew fur onto it so it already has the zipper and body Hope this helps if your in a time crunch!

I don't recommend that at all. It might take a long time with a dummy but you will end up with something that fits as it should instead of wasting a lot of fur

Yeah I personally don’t recommend this either, it always turns out looking really scuffed and not good if sew fur on clothes, using a duct tape dummy does take awhile but the end result looks better

traffic cone I know that it can be had to look at the shape of parts you wish were different, but once you have a dtd, you have a template to make your body look how you want. Often you see fursuits with slightly exaggerated breasts to pull off a feminine look, but there are just as many people doing the exact opposite; padding the chest to hide natural breasts. It's a costume, so you can be whomever and whatever you want to be with the right padding.

You could always make it so it can be taken out, just have a hole that has a zipper on the inside. Then if you are traveling or washing it you wont have too many issues.

I'm super confused on one part: the shape of the pillows! I understand absolutely all of it but what shape the pillows need to be and where each shape goes. I see that you made square/rectangle shaped pillows for the thighs(?) but how does that work? What is the half-moon shaped pillow for? Overall, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!

@@Maddy-hb7jf same, I'm 11 years old and I have a pair of paws I like to wear but one time when I was wearing them my brother saw me and said "why are you wearing those!?it's so disgusting cause that's what furries do and furries are people who frick animals, and it's gross!!" Wich kinda broke me inside and I thought of *hurting* myself after that.......heh heh.... ... Edit/update: a few days ago it was my birthday and my brother got me a collar.. I'm sick of this I really am and I just want to yell at him!! He thinks that justst because I'm a furry I'm some sort of other species! It makes me disgusted!

My friend makes Digi legs by taking some pants and putting all the padding on, and then attaching the feet paws. This method proves to be very successful.

This tutorial only shows the bodysuit not the tail. And you just make the hole for the tail above the padding

Do you need to have a ductape dummy? I'm aware it's a time consuming process but I was looking for a way to avoid using a ductape dummy. I'm sure it would be a pretty painful process if I were to just stand there and be the body pattern.

It's best to use a dummy, that way you can make sure that the padding are placed right

I think,when you put the fursuit,you start by the legs and then you put the pillows[it will stay in place because is a bit tight]

If you use high power magnets on the pattern and under the fur, your pattern making and cutting will be more accurate as they will hold them together while you mark the backing.
