You should be able to use a little bit of vegetable oil spread over the resin object before you push it into the clay. This will help release the object and it will just “ cook off “ when you dry the clay out. The one problem you can get using cling wrap is it can get crinkled and ruin your image but you won’t get that with oil.

Hello! I’m new to your channel and was instantly so happy to see that you were concerned about copyright. Too many people demonstrate ideas but infringe on a designer’s intellectual property/copyright. Plus I loved the tutorial which is what I was searching for. Informative, a very pleasant voice over and so helpful! You have a new subscriber!

@@ClairesCraftyCorner Its so refreshing to see such honesty and simple decency from a resin artist/crafter/you tuber! I started designing cross stitch a few years ago after people liked what I had designed for myself. Firstly I only sold to friends. Then, lo and behold, one of my designs was on eBay, being sold in multiples as a paper copy, no doubt just photocopied, for more than I was asking. I printed each one on quality paper from my design software and labelled each one with a copyright notice, restrictions (and the name of the buyer if it went as a pdf as cross stitch pdfs cannot be re-sold.) They had none of this I’m sure. They had sold more of that one design than I had in total! I never found out who it was, but oddly enough one person disappeared from my life after I posted about it in the cross stitch group I was in. I still design for gifts, but just cannot face the heartbreak of trying to sell. But I’m now on my resin journey! Shop will be opened soon I hope! Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Have a great day!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! I'd like to share a few ideas with you that helped me in the past when I tinkered with poly clay... #1...Instead of squishing the polymer clay ball directly on your tabletop, use a 4"x4" glossy wall tile as your work surface. Clean it, squish your ball, emboss it, cut final outter edge with (oiled) cookie cutter and put tile WITH clay still on it in oven to bake! This avoids warping your raw clay design you just made bc you don't have to peel it off of the worktop 😉 #2...Dab the tiniest bit of olive oil (or similar) onto your finger and run your finger along the inner edge of your cookie cutter, it will just slide RIGHT OFF of the clay shape you're cutting. ESPECIALLY if your raw clay is already stuck to the tile! Really hope this helps. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your videos... you ALWAYS brighten my day with your energy and cheerful voice!

Thanks for all the great tutorials! Other options to avoid the clay sticking… Dust the piece with corn starch (corn flour in the UK). Once you bake the clay, you can just wash off any powder residue if there is any. You can also spray water on the piece, and clay will not stick. Just be sure it is dry before baking! I don’t know what the equivalent is in the UK, but in the US, some people use regular Armor All as a release. It’s to clean car dashboards/doors/etc. Kinda a creamy liquid.

I really 💜💜💜 this idea to make my own inlays! I had tried using clear stamps (like rubber stamps, but clear - used for card-making) as inlays and although it worked, it wasn't ideal. Even with using Release spray on them, they were still very difficult to remove from the set resin. I'm still a little apprehensive about making my own silicone molds/inlays, but I'm getting closer to just giving it a shot and see what happens. I do use Air Dry clay to make other things and don't like Polymer clay... but I haven't seen anyone actually USE air dry clay to make these inlays... and not sure which air dry clay to use.

I was wrong about the resin. Know nothing about silicone rubber, thought you were talking about resin. I am correct about Sculpey III, i have been working with polymer more than 25 years. Yes it is best to bake polymer clay longer for strength, i bake it at least an hour, i always tent it I used your link and bought the larger kit. Those molds are very beautiful and tempting
