HOORAH!!! This is the first video I've seen that shows the clamp needs to be adjustable for the thickness of the metal being bent!!!! I discovered the necessity when making one using many other videos that didn't!

Never seen a shed built angle grinder mill. That’s awesome

A Jig on rollers with some 3 axis adjustments built in would be a cool trick. Some hill billy, decking engine blocks with a grinder and some home made JuJu would break the internet.

The angle grinder trick is very clever. I’m happy to see that it worked well.

Watched quite a few of metal brake build videos now and I reckon this one is about as clean and robust as I've seen. Bloody marvellous bit of work.

Made one very similar but to stop the flex I used a second piece of angle to form a T.. will have to borrow the shop built milling machine idea that is genius

do you think you could give me a list of materials that you had to use to build this thanks
@MrTackleberry792 жыл бұрын
Looks like a few lengths of angle, some round stock, a few bolts washers and nuts, two springs, and most importantly some basic mechanical aptitude and a bit of ingenuity.
@georgespangler15172 жыл бұрын
2 design problems truss is to high will deflect and your clamp downes being offset will give best to just drill through angle iron top and clamp there.
@jonathansimmonds57842 жыл бұрын
Just a thought, rather than welding on 2 (4) halves of a washer because you ran out of thread, wouldn't it have been neater/quicker to run the threads down the bolt a little...?

Using too light of gauge/ small dimensional stock steel, but I like your surfacer rig for angle grinder. no way quarter" is worth the labor especially over 3' work width. but you can build it up with scrap

why use an a-frame instead of a piece of flat bar?
@joshdog1648Ай бұрын
Couldn't help but notice the final bend uses only one side of the brake and crops out half the piece being bent...inspecting the brief glimpse of the bend it appears very asymmetric. Seems to me the most important part of a build video was glossed over (performance/does it work?).

i like voiceovers ok becuase you can have production video in the background while you are providing narration. very difficult to rattle off commentary while you are cutting grinding and welding. I enjoyed this video.

Honestly, I can’t see anything. There’s no explanation of the hinges, where they are placed, and why they are placed there.
@burtreynolds31432 жыл бұрын
Horrible explanation of bend radius adjustment. Looked like and after thought. I'd say that is the most important feature and I could not follow "always want it flush"? Flush with what ? Why is the test sample flopping around during the adjustment? I'm glad he wallowed out his hole and then added those washers to make up for the mess but why not explain why and how so others could learn ?
@georgespangler15172 жыл бұрын
I can see the flex with just the small peace not realistic to think it will bend nice 3 foot peaces built that way,
