Thank you for the excellent video! I especially like using a tee shirt as it is more stretchable than normal black cloth.I found this the perfect project for a rainy day.I am modifying the design to include what is called "tee-nut". This will go thru the plywood bottom and allow mounting the whole thing to a tripod or lighting stand. Thanks again!

Well done.... According to teleprompter Apps, Slides with bullet points is the best with the lead of being natural and maintaining eye contact on camera because you don't read word for word instead of script. "No special software needed" just have to mirror-flip the slides and good to go!

I found this interesting to watch. I am building one using a Siemens LCD Screen off an older computer. My choice of the screen was motivated by it's construction, it is very sturdy. I got some beam splitter glass from a local supplier and put it into a picture frame (as you did). The screen was slightly deeper than the frame and I mounted the frame with hinges against a piece of wood, which is held in place by two adjustable clamps with wing nut screws. I like the idea of a T shirt to make the blackened enclosure, but I used black felt and trimmed it to size. The components including glass and frame cost in the region of U$40.00. I run the autocue section off a laptop. The screen size allows me to position myself quite a distance from the presenter and I can adjust the size of the characters to suit the reader. I used to use an older autocue with a CRT monitor in the past, so this one is considerable lighter. I am just welding a bracket to hold the construction in place on one of my Sachtler tripods. Your video is great

Thanks so much for this brilliant step-by-step... I've just made one following your video and I can't believe it; I'm stoked! I made mine a little differently in that I made it out of two picture frames and covered the hardboard backing of the bottom one in black velvet as a nice non-scratchy bed for my iPad. Then I just used two short bolts instead of the full-length threaded bar. Ginormous hug from me! x

Thanks for the tip! I set up my TP as instructed and I have a problem: The projection on the glass is blurred, with shadows on the letters. I have already changed the position and height of my tablet, but it remains the same. Was there a solution? Any adjustments to the TP? Was it due to the type of glass? About sewing a T-shirt, I found it easier to staple with a stapler. Greetings from Brazil - 2020, covid19 quarantine

Thanks for your comment! There will be double reflection when using regular glass. I do not think it is very disturbing if you are not too close to the teleprompter. Otherwise you have to use a special beam splitter glass.

Very, very nice video and build. Although your design is the best, there's another option if someone doesn't have the tools/material to do the aluminum angling bar. You can cut out 2 small triangles (wood, foam-core, whatever), and tape-hinge them to the platform and turn them up-right so they hold the glass at a 45-degree angle. When you put it away, you just fold them back down. In other words, you keep the glass up using two 45-degree shims. Again, great video!
