I’m Dominican and this recipe is by far the best Dominican cake recipe I’ve ever tried and authentic!! I tried it a few years ago and I still come back to this one so you’d think I should already know how to make it but the truth is I only bake once in a blue..Thank you!!!

i really enjoy your receipt but i use half of every ingredient to make a smaller portion without the frosting. Plain cake always taste better, makes me feel like my grandma baking old school cake without frosting. Memories are precious. Thanks for posting this video, you did a great job.

It was moist. Not overly sweet. Just delicious. Im having problems with the frosting going flat after i decorate but i think it may be because i put food coloring in it.

well you can use any of them. It can be unsalted or salted butter, but if you used unsalted butter you should add a tbsp of salt, so your cake is tasty. are you in my mmj-222 class?

to make tres de leche cake, you only need to mix the water ingredient and add it to the same cake you baked from this video. here is the process: one can carnation milk, one can condense milk, some whole milk. you mix all three milk together. when you finish baking the cake,leave it in the pan, take a fork and poke holes on the cake then pour milk mixture on the cake, then plastic wrap the pan with the cake and put it in the refrigerator for a few hours.

Hello Carlos, I LOVE this recipe. I've made it many times. The only "issue" I've had is that it's so moist, it can sometimes break apart when taking out of pan. I'd recommend anyone using this recipe to make sure to grease your pan just like Carlos does and when it's ready CAREFULLY flip over onto cooking rack. Now the Suspiro is pure science. make sure your syrup gets to a temperature of 250° and that you use cream of tartar (1/8 tsp). It will take some time to get the perfect suspiro, I should know I've made it over 15 times. Finally got it. Thank you for the video. So tasty!

Muchas gracias. Si es a temperatura, pero puedes ponerla en el microhondas por 30 segundos hasta que este a temperatura. Por ejemplo le das 30 segundos, y repites como 3 veces. Cuidado no se te vaya a derretir. O dejarla afuera del refrigerador el dia antes.

Yum, my favorite dessert in the world with suspiro. I used to buy a cheap cake off the street called "buraccho" I think? I was some sort of cake soaked in red syrup. I am America but lived in Moca for 3 years. My favorite food from DR was Pollo a carbon con yuca y cebolla con vinagre.or with Cassava bread grilled. Sancocho was good but I don't like plantains or those other vegetables in it, just the meat and broth. I loved Mondongo and had that every Friday night. Berenjena guisada , pollo guisada, Carne de Chivo picante, guandules, and pastelon en hoja, and pastelon de platanos maduro con carne. Plus dulce of any kind., Ice cream, Jun Jun, batita, jugo etc.!

I cooked this cake for my dominican boyfriend he was very concerned about the uncooked egg whites in the frosting recipe and if its safe to eat? or did you use a specific type of eggs??? Because the note on egg box says do not eat uncooked. The cake without the frosting was good it turned out great!
