Aside from how stupid it is to build something like this that you could buy for a few buck, there's a couple engineering flaws to it: The welds will break soon because spring steel (in this case, probably class 2 wire) doesn't weld well. It won't have much preload tension on it so if the hinges have ANY drag it will stop before closing. The metal on metal fit where the bar slides through the mount on the door will quickly wear and provide a lot of extra drag. And it's not offset from the door frame enough to allow the door to go much past 90 degrees.

Сразу два недочёт. Прижимную планку надо было торцом приваривать и на кронштейне пружины точки крепления со стороны двери нужно повернуть на 90°. Тем самым максимально совместив ось пружины с осью дверных петель.

Когда нам было лет по 8-10 сосед Игорь Феофаныч пришпандорил прежину что трактором не разогнуть. torsion spring might need 90° worth of elasticity (if that makes sense, i mean if u push the spring beyond 90° elastic limit is reached) only looks to make it 45° here. As for the bar its at a 90° offset to the door, opening the door the full way means it will just barely reach if at all. I suggest starting at an offset to the bar beyond 90° and use a different spring, that beint said v good concept, not anything ive done

Да, если бы без нагрева выпрямил концы пружин, просверлил бы отверстия и вставив концы сжал бы пружину перед тем как прикрутить к двери, был бы годный захлапыватель двери, но ещё пружину надо помощнее, так как эта по мне быстро ослабнет, да и резьба здесь лишняя.

I want to see him open the door fully, it seems like the end of the rod is going to dig into the door. The distance from the spring mount and the side of the door is more than the offset of the bracket mounted on the door. If the door is opened to 90° the rod isn't parallelle to the door bat angled towards the door. The end of the rod pushes further through the bracket as the door opens, because the pivot point of the door and the spring are not at the same place, the brakeet on the door moves dowards the spring when the door opens. Depending on the constraints it could happen that the end of the rod pushes up agains the door.

Это не доводчик, а простая пружина. Доводчик именно доводит дверь из любого положения, может плавно (как отрегулировать), пружина - просто захлопывает, и не всегда эффективно.

For the comments about the door not opening, that door can clearly open wider than 90 degrees. The problem is, there's no way to adjust tension or release tension when you want to leave door open. Store bought door closers can be adjusted and many have a feature to hold the door open.

@AztecWarrior69 it will open 100° or maybe 120° but not 180° . There are door stoppers made to stop doors from opening 180° . They attach to the hinge and work in the exact same way. If you look at one, you'll understand what we're talking about. If you think it won't open then you just don't understand what you're talking about.

Можно использовать пружину и два гвоздя. Прибил её с другой стороны двери и доводчик готов. На входе на веранду в деревне так сделано, давно работает. И в любой момент можно снять, убрать и забыть.
