When your life depends on it, use a water knot to tie two ends of webbing together not a square.

Knot craft is underrated.

Along with the water knot, first cut and seal the ends of the webbing at a 45 degree angle. This helps with threading in the molle.

That's what we use in the fire service for a hasty harness. Traced knot doesn't slip.

Will this method work for carrying fat women out of my bed?
@lbsand976 Жыл бұрын
#1 the fact that you're even considering 'carrying' a fat woman shows your lack of experience. #2 the fact that this was about a 'drag' not cradle or litter shows you don't listen well #3 combine the 2 and it's pretty appparent that you will not need an answer anytime soon but i'll throw you a bone anyway. #4 always drag or roll fat girls out of your bed. be safe and don't ever try and carry one! NOTE- If circumstance dictates a carry only extraction always go with a ranger roll technique but be CAREFUL! one slip and you can get yourself into quite a precarious position. i'd suggest donning an avilung device or snorkle to avoid auto-BBW-asphyxiation. be safe out there.

Depending on what you consider "fat", I would recommend increasing the strap width from 1" to 5".

Been thinking about coming out to a cqb class soon. What kind of prior knowledge do you need before you show up? And are there any classes you recommend taking first? Been flat range shooting all my life and am very well educated on firearms safety!

How would you go about showing the excess fabric again after use if it’s covered by a back panel. *not for real world scenarios but in a training environment per say when you’re getting multiple reps.

My plate carrier has a "recovery handle" on it. How would this be better than that? I guess I don't understand why it's 12' long.
@Exmachinagamma9 ай бұрын
It may pull the front plate under your chin or into your windpipe.
@RecondoPaulАй бұрын
It keeps the plates from riding up into the casualties neck. The Carabiner hooks into your belt so that it pulls you from your belt instead of by the carrier itself. It also allows for better leverage when dragging the casualty. Keeps the casualty from further injury due to the slight lift it gives, it cradles the head with the straps and allows the person pulling the casualty a more efficient stance when pulling said casualty.
@REDACTED115 Жыл бұрын
What size carabiner did you use for this?
@99cobra2881 Жыл бұрын
I used a Kong mini D carabiner as I didnt want a large mass of metal over top of my spine. The chances of falling back on the D ring seem much more likely to happen versus needing drug by it. Its not rated for climbing but is rated for 600kg or 1300lbs It hasnt ever come close to coming off my inner belt

My question on this is for something like maritime operations, where the ability to doff the kit in an emergency is important. Trying to brainstorm ways to do this where you would be able to doff it as well. Possibly instead of a caribiner, you used a quick release shackle. Or, is this something you keep stowed, and your buddy hooks to your belt before dragging you? I love stuff like this, but I've always gotta figure out how to make something like this work for the environment I operate in.

QD buckle is the usual go to for maritime use.

@@oriontraininggroupllc2782 can you post a link or something to give me an idea what you're referencing? Just went through a TCCC class where they talked about a similar drag strap. I didn't get a chance to ask them about quick release options.
Where do you get your tubular webbing from?, a link would be nice, too much chinese junk out there
@danielweak7641 Жыл бұрын
Why would you create a strap when the shoulder strap already does that? In the marines we just grab the shoulder straps
@oriontraininggroupllc278211 ай бұрын
If you didn’t actually watch the video, it’s because dragging by the shoulder straps is inefficient and can cause greater injury, choking, etc

Meh I'd rather pay Aglite for their verison that allows you to carry rather than drag.
@oriontraininggroupllc2782 Жыл бұрын
This is not for long term carries. This is for short drags out of a problem area, where you can triage/intervene/utilize a carry system. So you’re not picking a better capability with whatever agilite makes, you’re picking something with a different purpose.
@presidentmerkinmuffley6769 Жыл бұрын
@@oriontraininggroupllc2782 If the purpose is getting your teammate out of the area to triage, it is the same purpose. Theirs leverages physics and human physiology in a better method, that still leaves both hands free to manipulate items. Further the Israelis have and are using them in combat right now. I will take fully developed and combat tested system over an ad hoc system.
@testpython3575 Жыл бұрын
@@presidentmerkinmuffley6769What you also forget to realize is the amount of time wasted trying to setup the agilite buddy system. You'd spend more time attempting to setup agilites system than you would just grabbing a drag handle and pulling. OTG was correct in saying that these two systems serve two different purposes.
@presidentmerkinmuffley6769 Жыл бұрын
@@testpython3575 Yea take a look at how the Israelis use it there is footage out there; use handle that is already on any plate carrier to immediate cover then the optimal is other team mate places casualty, set straps and go. Still more effective as this give you several feet of pull before movement at the end of a semi secured strap and biner, what are leverage and torque again?? The only reason to have this length is to be able to stand and move while pulling which implies a further distance than to immediate cover which a pull to immediate cover is perfectly handled by the drag handle that doesn't yield and is already on the carrier.
@testpython3575 Жыл бұрын
@@presidentmerkinmuffley6769 ive done my research on it already. its okay to disagree but for care under fire, a drag handle is more effective. once care has been provided, agilites system would be better for moving the patient to a casevac site. Like I said in my first reply, two different tools, two different purposes.
