Amazing tutorial on wiring up a dictator management system to the Honda EK...this is something id like to soon with my EG its currently a d15b3 carb engine but im .currently collecting spare parts to convert to a not so popular D16 ZC dohc set up...wish you will do an inventory of all the stuff you needed and where u sourced them locally...appreciate the works u do

Hi Justin, thanks for watching!, cheapest and best upgrade for the D15B3 is to swop on the fuel injection from a D16A7. intake with rail and injectors, throttle body, full wiring loom and ECU. you may also need the fuel pump. this will give you fuel injection, better intake and TB. it will improve performance but it's still a 1.5. the D16 ZC or D16A9 DOHC are good motors, makes better torque. parts are a bit harder to find though. but the EG ballade 160E came with that motor so you know all the parts to do the swop exists.

Hi wat a great video it really helped me a lot thanks man Just need some advice I’m done with my harness and did my continuity test and all seems ok Just on my mag converter I’m only getting a reading from black/ground wire side and not getting any reading from the green/trigger input side I’m guessing it’s supposed to be that way as it’s a converter and will only send current through the green/trigger input side when car is on How did u do ur reading for continuity on mag converter But I could be wrong you advise will be appreciated

Hi bro, if i remember correctly, I also did not have continuity on the converter. You can test it by connecting it to the ecu and spinning the dizzy by hand, see if it reads rpm. Just unplug the coil and injectors. Also a good time to test settings as the dizzy will heat up if you have the rising/falling settings are wrong.

a year ago and im watching this video again haha. can you perhaps guide me on how to connect my standard cluster rev gauge ? i tried running the cluster rev wire(blue) to the dizzy(blue wire) and i still didnt get a signal on the cluster. Im running std ignitor(no tp100) and a std dickatator. Your help will be appreciated.

Hi Bro, run the blue wire from the dicktator straight to your cluster rpm pickup wire. the blue wire is a rpm output, on older cars it will work connecting to the cluster.

Hi Thomas, yes I have looked at it, looks like a great unit, I like the open source idea. the problem I see is that it is not supported locally so you will need a tuner that is willing to tune it for you. the unit I am using is very supported locally, $100 gets you a dyno tune and the unit + loom brand new is only about $170. it is batch fire and very basic, but you can get the unit, installed and tuned for about 300 to 350 USD. so it is mostly price motivated. but thanks for the suggestion, I am currently looking for a better budget ecu.

Do detailed. I built my own harness a couple of years ago, but couldn't find the sumitomo pins for the TPS etc. Do you have a link for that plug kit, would love to repin my plugs again with fresh stuff.

The ecu's can normally do "batch fire" for the injectors (1 wire trigger 3 or all 6 injectors) so even the cheap "MFI v1" ecu can run up to 8 cylinder motors. just find a tuner first as some tuners won't want to tune your powermods unit.

Hi Bro, the Dicktator STD can run a 6 cylinder also, but only if it works with a dizzy and has a 6 pin trigger wheel. alternatively the 36-1 or 60-2 ecu can work for you but your motor must then have a crank trigger wheel to match 36-1 or 60-2. also you may have to convert to a multi-coil setup if it is not a dizzy motor.

Hi Henrique, this should work, mounts and gearbox should be a straight fit. However i don't think the loom will work, you may need a z6 loom and ecu to make it run.

Hi Kurt, when I got my plugs I learned it was not easy to fine automotive plugs in SA, most of my plugs I salvaged from my old engine loom, Honda plugs are easy to depin. The other plugs I got from AliExpress (best option at the time) check Aliexpress and ebay/Amazon for what you need, they may have. also if it is just a "plug to plug" rater replace both with a Delphi style plug, they cheap and work. for sensor plugs Dictator is your best bet.

Hi, in short, yes it can work. the D17 has coil on plug, so the "Dicktator STD" ecu won't work. but you can use a Dicktator 60-2 ecu for example. you will have to also use TP100 modules to fire the coils.

Is it me or does putting an air filter on your turbo make the exhaust quieter🤔i have a 3 inch straight pipe exhaust and when i put a filter on the turbo it got slightly quieter

Hi, in my case it did not affect the exhaust sound, it does make the turbo and intake sound quieter. perhaps if your filter is restrictive or interfering with the MAF sensor it could cause it to run slightly different.

Hi Ethan. Aim is 150wkw, which should be around 0.8 bar boost. This has been done before, the motors are known to hold 150 to 160 hp. We will see about the reliability. Before the car was making 120wkw with zero issues, took alot of abuse. But we will see I guess. Thanks for the support!

@Ethan Rhode the intention is for it to be a street car that can go to the drag strip. I drove the car as a daily for about 600km to run in the motor, it drives just like a stock car when not boosting. Just waiting on parts now before we can dyno tune it.
