Thank you very much for showing this. It gave me a better idea on how to make it.

Nice job, I plan on starting one for my firehouse in a few days. When you ripped the 5/4 pine, what were the dimensions of each strip? 5/4 x ? Thanks! (I did get the measurements after for the rabbet cuts)

Thanks for this. I made one and it came out great. I’ve never done any kind of projects like this. But after making it, the fire chief asked if I’d make two more for the firehouses. So I’m in process. What did you use to cut the firehose? Thanks in advance.
@RojasCarpentry3 ай бұрын
@@JillZajicek Just a sharp razor blade! I kept swapping out the blade to keep it super sharp for a clean cut.

What did you use to cut the hose? I made mine slightly smaller than 3x5 feet. I used 2x3 construction lumber for the frame. The person I made it for, loved it!

@@RojasCarpentrythanks. I used Ninja scissors the first time. But for two more I was hoping to hear there was an easier solution. Thanks again!!

Yes! Not one issue. It's been holding up great

How did you remind the liners from the pieces that have the couplers
@RojasCarpentry2 жыл бұрын
Those I actually left in there. I wish I could've taken them out but I don't think there was any way to do it unfortunately
@josephchronowski5972 жыл бұрын
Been working on one myself and was about to ask this myself, haha. I might try a rotary tool inside the coupling to cut that inner jacket. 🤞
@RojasCarpentry2 жыл бұрын
@@josephchronowski597 Good idea!! Maybe even a hot "knife" of piece of metal bent at 90° and try cutting around the inside

I going to be building a flag like this soon. I like what you did with the stars. I don’t have the capability of making them myself. I was wondering if this is something I could purchase from you? Also, what are the dimensions/spacing for your star spacer board?
@RojasCarpentry3 жыл бұрын
I would love to make them for you unfortunately it is probably more cost effective if you order from someone off etsy or Amazon. Just look up 2.5" plywood stars and a few options should pop up. I personally wouldn't be able to do it as cheap as them. For the spacing, I just got rid of those sticks unfortunately. Next time I am around the flag I can send you the measurements.
@RojasCarpentry3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ryan! I found the story sticks! The spacing between each row going up and down is 2.5" Left to right, each star is 6" apart

@@RojasCarpentry well I'm a year behind schedule but finally getting around to building my hose flag. I used your vice technique to get the inner rubber jacket out of the house, man did that work awesome!!! How did you get the rubber jacket out of the pieces with the couplings still attached?
@RojasCarpentry Жыл бұрын
@Ryan Savage So those I left in. As long as you get as much weight off the entirety of the flag that's what matters. Can't win em all!

Appreciate the advice, I’ll send you some pictures of the completed process.
