Being there just has a crumb coat, don't you feel that cutting the cake in half and filling it with buttercream would have been a good choice being generally people don't eat fondant and they like frosting?

I love this idea so much! I am a hobby baker! I plan on making a catfish cake for my boyfriend this Friday. You said the cake was frozen to keep the crumbs at a minimum. Was the cake in the freezer over night or for a couple of hours? This would be my first fondant cake!
