How to Make A FLOWER POT out of CAKE! Chocolate cake, coffee buttercream and edible OREO dirt!

What better way to celebrate the day dedicated to the woman who gave you life than with FLOWERS! Rather than giving my Mamma traditional flowers for this year's Mother's Day, I decided to give her CAKE! She couldn't tell the difference though (see the end of the vid).
This week I show you how I made these flower pot cakes with chocolate cake, coffee buttercream and fondant. I even sprinkled them with edible dirt and decorated them with real flowers! Hint: If you want to avoid working with fondant, you can bake cakes in a terracotta pot, just grease it and line with parchment paper to cover the drainage hole! Happy Caking!

I made this for mother's day this year and it was a huge hit. I didn't do it exactly the way you did it because I didn't have time to make fondant (I know I know fondant takes like 10 minutes to make) but I wanted the other details to be perfect. Instead of coffee buttercream I did a regular buttercream border and a little smear of extra buttercream across the layer with crushed oreos between each layer. My mom loved it.

#fanlovefeb Hi Yolanda. this is my absolute favorite video. i loved the cake so much i did a way less hard version for my moms birthday. i didn't make it look like a flower pot but i made mine look like it was a garden. it was the best cake i have ever made. i followed the whole video (except the fondant and shaping the cake) while i made my own cake. i love how original your cakes are and no one else has thought of cakes like them. i've been subscribed for a long time now but this is still my favorite cake. 😘
