To help keep foliage fresh, gather in advance and submerge in bucket’s of water for a couple of days. This will keep it fresh for longer xxx

I'd always heard that with holly the prickly leaves signified Christ's crown of thorns and that the berries signified his blood. Christmas used to have a truer meaning. MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!:)

For those Christians such as us, it still means everything to me. Merry Christmas!

Christian mythology tended to build on top of exisiting customs so it is quite possible that the holly wreath tradition was given a new analogy for relevance . Interesting to think what it could symbolise today....
@Laura-g1c1lАй бұрын
@@debzeb6899 If you want to say tradition, that's fine. But Christ is NO MYTH.

Foraged, to decorate, instead of all the store bought junk. I was just thinking about this today. If only we all had access to these natural materials.

My husband has been pulling grapevine from our trees and grapevines….I love the idea of doing natural. I usually go overly crazy , but this year want to try lots of natural for my Christmas. So glad you popped up on my feed. Since I have so much grapevine I am thinking there are going to be wreaths everywhere and one laid down on tables. You did a great job. I will subscribe so I can “see” you again.❤❤❤

Sooooo beautiful! I have always added natural elements to a base of faux (since the quality has really come a long way in the last few years), but you’ve really inspired me to go all natural this year! In. S. California we have lots of various types of eucalyptus, cypress & pine everywhere so they will be my base, but you’ve inspired me to also use ivy now! (I had always reserved ivy for spring / Easter before.) Thank you so much for the lovely video❤️

I did my first ever wreaths last year ( a great success!). However I had seen all the berries on the Holly tree in November but by the time I went to collect Holly all the berries were gone!. I like the idea and look of Ivy but I've always been a bit scared of touching Ivy but maybe I will use it this year. Looking forward to wreath making day at the start of December. I loved the one you put on your door beautiful.

That is beautiful for fall and Christmas. If only it would last from now till new year's. Those candles near all the greens especially those dried hydrangea make me skittish, I would use the flameless, then no worries. 😊

It’s a really lovely video but bringing Ivy into the home is considered bad luck, just use it in a wreath on the front door instead. Foliage displays can last longer if you spray them with water every few days too

It is actually illegal to pick holly in the wild So be very careful
@honeyb1286Ай бұрын
Foraging is not illegal in the UK for personal use and on common land i.e not private land without permission. Therefore everything foraged in this video was legal and can be fully enjoyed to create beautiful Christmas decorations for our homes. Hope you spread some joy for Christmas to those around you! …😉

Be mindful of plants, even trimmings and seeds, that are toxic such as Yew and Hawthorn seeds from the berries. Be sure to keep away from pets and children.
