Advent indeed! It's time to "prepare"! Such a nice design, John, and while I'd not expect it to last, I do like the addition of the aspargus fern. It really softens things, I think. A tip: when c leaning up after working with resinous greenery, a bit of olive oil rubbed into the hands will dissolve the sap and give you sticky-free fingers! Have a great week, Friend!

That’s a great tip - it’s amazing how the sap gets on your hands and it isn’t easy to remove. I will definitely be trying that next time I am cutting resinous greenery. Thank you 😊 and yes, nows the time to think ahead, get materials sorted and prepared 😀🌼

I love this.. I am doing research on how to do this with flowers. Wondering if you do anything special with them to get them to last longer or how long you expect them to last?

@@MelissaKrebs-s7o the best advice for having flowers last is - buy god quality, condition well overnight in deep cold water , use a knife to cut the stems ( no crush ) have a good water source in the design, and then water and must regularly. The overall ambient temperature is also important- cooler is better. But flowers need to be where they are needed and enjoyed - so don’t leave them in a room you don’t use that’s cooler just so they last longer 😀

If I'm doing Christmas or holiday I love the flat Cedar there's just something about it you can elongate with it it's kind of lazy in a way if you might say I just think it's gorgeous and you could actually spray paint any color you wanted

Hello, and thank you 😊 I’m a bit the same - you just can’t go wrong with traditional colours at Christmas, or to add a slant just go all white/ silver / grey. If you do pick a totally different colour then you need to bring in some sparkle or baj ale to show it really is Christmas - then anything goes! Flower wise the longer lasting choices work well - so carnations are a perfect flower. But artificial poinsettia can look really good 😊

Can you do this type of Christmas arrangement 2 days prior to an event? From example, can the arrangement be done on Thursday for a Saturday event and the flowers still look good? How well will the flowers and greenery stay put if the arrangement is hanging - any tips so help ensure a hanging arrangement contents don't fall? Do you suggest a particular floral glue brand or technique to secure greenery and flowers for hanging arrangement

Yes, two days before is fine, but best to then hang it when needed. If hung two days before it will dry out faster than if laid horizontal. The flowers are foliage are held well by the base - though if placed outside then not so much as any wind may loosen them. Glue - hot or cold glue is both good, just different. 😀 if you only need to glue one flower then cold is easier, but a hot glue gun heats up quickly, so it’s really just which you prefer using.
