I did make one...I must admit, I was disappointed. I am not an inexperienced brewer (all grain) and I followed the instructions to the letter. Mine stalled at 1.016, I tried adjusting the temperatures then eventually pitched a second, re-hydrated yeast...nothing. I cold crashed and carbonated. The taste is sub par, if definitely requires a dry hop. My initial taste on the palette was malt which tailed off towards unfermented wort. This then led to a blank canvas - no lasting taste. I have played with cellar temps and carbonation volumes...nothing. Maybe I got a bad bag of wort, maybe I did something wrong...I don't think so. I won't be retrying it - nothing against The Malt Miller - the best supplier for me, but this product in it's current form is not for me. Cheers lads. Stewy.

Yeah this kit seems to be getting mixed reviews looking at the moments. Maybe this is the first step in this style and as they expand the range it may improve? Expensive kit to not get the results you wanted though.

Looks like a great concept looking forward to seeing if other styles come out. You’ve absolutely got me intrigued about the spectrum and I may defiantly give that a go . Another great honest review brilliant thanks guys , cheers 👍🍻

spectrum was mega Rick! saving 3 pints of beer for a couple of pounds! boom. I’m keeping my eyes open for a wheat as it’ll save the decotion mash.

Really interesting to see if they expand this range as a way of experimenting with a level up from extract kits 👍

as soon as the Hefeweizen range comes out I’ll be all over it.

Thanks for the review, enjoyed it and I'm definitely interested in the product. For me - Either price point its cheaper than getting a keg filled at my local brewery. I've used them when I need a keg quick (as in time to brew) and felt fleeced!

Id 100% give it a go if you’re interested. All I’d say is stick to what is suppose to be… if it’s an English Ale stick to any additions that meet that style.

probably use the ale yeast...they advertise it as malty with bready notes..bit pricey for me with delievery around six quid. good honest video

yeah we just went with the yeast The Malt Miller recommended on their vid as we weren’t sure. probs doing it around a classic British bitter would of been better. well you’ll have to double up and spend over £100 for free delivery ha. Thanks, we do try to be honest as can be.

Good review. I did wonder how these would turn out. Not for me though, it’s the brewing equivalent of a microwave meal.

Ha I do know what you mean but it has some purpose. it’s been made by the brewery with their water profile. it’s as close as you’ll get without them bottling it I guess.

Great concept, straight from the brewery. Heavy price, doesn't look very good and the head is none existent. If you do AG you can get brilliant recipe kits for half the price
@OysterBoysBrewingCo2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I’d only use this if I don’t have AG capability and was using kits or was limited on time.

£67.25 for all that ingredients. That’s just a big nope for something that was just ok.

Ha that’s only because we tried to pimp it up. It’s standard £38 as a kit but yeah get where you’re coming from.
