How to Make a GALLERY Lid Jar

There are so many ways to make lids.This one is called the Gallery Type lid. this one is in the basic real of things most potters know. we are almost done, we only have about 1 or 2 more lid types to go over for the beginner play list.

Dirty Potter Tip: You can also use talc or cornstarch on the gallery to keep your lid from fusing while checking the fit. Just make sure to wash the gallery after bisque firing. ;-) Great information and explained well.

How do you smooth the base of the lid without trimming? Is that after bisque or so you just run a wet sponge over the greenware once it's a little dryer

The music is distracting while you are talking, or maybe it's too loud, I don't know, just that I don't like it. One other thing is that the lid should not dry separate from the base as they will dry at different rates and then the lid will NOT FIT. Shame!
