Steve's MS-22 is quite possibly my favourite sounding filter in Eurorack.

+1. I'm pretty sure I messed up something during my build (all smd done by hand and iron) but honestly I love it even more compared to yt demos. Someone I was showing it off to called it an 'analog OTT'

Fantastic quick patching demo! I have Quadratt but had not thought of using it to modulate Salmple (which I also have) like this. Elegantly simple, bangin' groovebox!

Thanks! I love making small setups that have big sounds like this one

What a fantastic rig! I'm broke, so I can't buy the modules, but it gives me an idea for a VCV Rack virtual modular configuration, thanks! I'm subscribing!
@SynthDad Жыл бұрын
Thank you for subscribing! VCVrack is a great starting point to explore from, and I think you can get roughly similar modules in it to play with. Have fun!

@@SynthDad Yes, and it should help me learn more about what VCV Rack modules can do, thanks again for the inspiration.

Hey! Can you talk about that Xodes MLB please? There are no videos explaining that module on YT!

I'm working on a video series covering the basics of modular, including logic modules

This is great, thank you. Also, squeezing Steve’s into the little Intellijel case is no mean feat but now I am tempted to do it again for my upcoming build.
@SynthDad2 жыл бұрын
It's a bit of a squeeze and you have to be careful with power cable routing. But it is well worth it!

Great video, Mark! This reminds me I should dig out my Squid Salmple again 😅

Thanks Tom - I'm loving mine for these small setups

Great video! How are you using the 1/4 inch audio outs at the top without the Intellijel output module? Asking as I’m interested in this case but not sure how that works. Thanks!
@SynthDad2 жыл бұрын
The Endorphins Cockpit 1U module connects directly to the 1/4 inch outputs on the top of the case. It's a 4 channel mixer, with headphone output and also connects to 1/4" out. A great module to use in a Palette case! Thanks again for watching

Fantastic stuff, very inspiring! I don’t have the DOTs but I guess Pam’s can do something similar? It would be GREAT if you could maybe do a more advanced tutorial on Pam’s and how it can work in a small system? Thank you, you’re one of YTs very best teachers!
@SynthDad2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely Pam's could take the place of the DOTs here, but you'd lose some of the hands-on control you have. Thanks for watching - I'll put your suggestion on my list

BTW, if you want to go _even_ smaller, the Centrevillage GATEM is also a 3 track euclidean gate sequencer - in 2hp! Worth checking out (also has probability, clock division, and swing per channel)
@daemonicflame2 жыл бұрын
I use Euclidean circles with 6switches for this, 6 channels, and has mutes.

Very nice, hadn’t checked that one out before

That is an awesome Care..i got my science fair 160 n one i gutted out..it's ok but not your traditional case...i guess i love the homemade geeky style but i love your case...if i were to build a 2nd system,,it would look just like this..i like it small & light...Wish you fit the Zioa Euroburo in there..lol

Did you consider Tendrils cables? I think they could make a small system like this more comfortable to tweak. Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it a lot, and reminded me I NEED a logic module :)
@SynthDad2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion on the Tendrils - they're on my shopping list for the next time I order. They'll definitely make for a cleaner setup.

For my money you're much better off with something like a TR8s or Syntakt for drums & perk and using a modular skiff for synth and bass lines.
@jloiben12 Жыл бұрын
I largely agree with this UNLESS you are using drum-specific synthesis (ie - not playing back samples but actually using eurorack drum synthesis modules). Obviously that is different than this “small system” use case but that’s the only real way I see drums in modular being… “worth it”

Why not get the 3u version of Cockpit for mixing AND muting? I say that and I'm about to buy the 1u version of Peaks because it just fits better for the workflow. Sometimes I answer my own question lol Great stuff, my dude. Greetings from Texas
@SynthDad2 жыл бұрын
Well I as looking at the 1U version for my Palette case. But the mutes also changes he rhythm coming from the MLB logic module
