I put the timecode up in the description so that you can easily go to different parts of the video, but also I hope the timecode serves as a kind of outline in text form to remind you of the key points (sort of like notes for you). If you want to use this video in a live class, for example, I hope the timecodes will help you jump around to different parts easily. For example, you can have students watch this video before class, and then in class you can jump around key points and have discussions over those. Remember that you can mouse over the progress bar in the video to see where you want to go as well by chapter. Anyway, it's not perfect, but I hope the chapters help.

Excellent. Thank you. May I ask how to make the speaker larger and the screen share smaller? Do you know if it can be done on Google Meet or Facebook Live? Thank you so much. Could you please spell or link to the app you are using for this?

This is great as always Garr, although one we area that we differ is that I feel that we should always be presenting standing up. It certainly helps the energy, and tells your brain it's showtime. It also tells your audience that you care.

Yes, I agree. I mentioned that in the video someplace that generally it is much better if you can stand. It is difficult to do since I am using a desktop (I don't want to look down). I could put the laptop at camera level if standing but my current MacBooks do not run mmhmm as fast as my M1 Mac mini. Anyway, I agree. I'll see if I can stand more in future videos. Good observation. Cheers1

this is fantastic. I have bought all your books, and get compliments for my presentations. Any suggestions to scientific presentations? Where you have to present boring but important material and methods, results in tables, statistical analysis etc

The app I used to deliver and record is called mmhmm. Slides I exported from Keynote and I also used images directly as well as B-roll video. Thanks for the suggestion. This video has some of the how I did it, but perhaps I can make a better one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3vMnmSDbLeHoJI

This is *fabulous,* Garr new subscriber here! I'm just getting to grips with mmhmm myself. With the transparent images & text_ eg E = mc2 at 12:12 - 12:17 is this done in mmhmm, or something else? This video deserves far more views - I hope you get them! 🙏🏼

Thanks for the note. Appreciate it. The type I made in Keynote and just made the background transparent then exported as a PNG file. Simple in Keynote (does not look simple in ppt). Also easy to do in GIMP (free). Thanks again!

@@Presentation-Zen Thank you! Yes, I know how to do a vectored .png. If I cba to do an instant alpha, I just use _remove.bg_ I can just drag into keynote then, and use as my slide, or do you drag into mmhmm natively? Mac user here too, obvs. 😃

@@221b-Maker-Street The slide (without a background in Keynote) is exported as a png and then put into mmhmm just like any other slide, video, or image. In Keynote it looks like text on a black background but it is exported sans a background. mmhmm does not have good type-making abilities now so if ti very limited. I hope the tool will get better and allow for making text with more control. I do not need Word Art or effects, it would just be nice to use a type tool where you can control font and size and kerning, etc. For now it is probably just best to design your visuals in keynote or ppt etc. and export them as JPEGs or PNGs and then add them to mmhmm and add more visuals too if you want to make changes.
